"Paige?"
Paige looked up from her desk to see her mom, wearing a long dark blue dress. "Yes?"
She crossed her arms across her chest, "Can I talk to you for a second... alone?"
Paige bit her lip, how could she trust her mom who left her and her father. "Um… sure." She got out of her chair and followed her mother to the back of the room, "What do you want to talk about, mom?"
"Why are you still with that Navy Seal?" She asked flatly.
Paige looked at her mom in shock, "Because I love him. Why do you ask?"
"Paige." Her mom put her hand on Paige's right shoulder, "I know he isn't the one for you."
Paige backed away from her mom, "Why in the world do you say that? You don't know anything mom."
Paige's mom sighed, "Honey…"
"Don't you dare 'Honey' me. You left me, I'm not your Honey."
Paige's mom crossed her arms again, "I thought you were smarter."
Paige tilted her head, "What do you mean by that?"
Her mom walked over to the table and sat down on a chair, "Paige, long distant relationships don't last long. Trust me, I was in one when I was younger."
Paige sat down across from her mom, "Mom, mine is different."
Her mom sighed, "I thought mine was too, sweetheart. Paige stared silently at her. "But, when it wasn't… I was broken hearted. I don't want you to be broken too."
"Tim is different."
"No, he is not Paige." Paige's mom stood up, "Listen, he is not the one for you… just like Drew." She turned her head towards Walter, who was playing a game of chest with Ralph. "The right one for you is out there." She looked back at her daughter, "But, you won't see him unless you open your heart and eyes." With those words her mom turned around and walked away. Leaving Paige not only confused, but wondering if maybe her mom was right.
