AYYYY LMAOOO I am pretty damn sure no one even reads this fic anymore since i left it for 3 years. Sorry, But I am back, hello to my nonexistent audience! I will be re-writing this fic because jesus christ this plot and writing is atrocious so it will go from atrocious to..bearable. So while it may take me some time to re-write everything, it will be done! So apologize in advance for having half the chapters in decent condition and the other half in horrible shape. 100% sure characters will be OOC cause I have no clue what happened after I left bleach back in ye olde days of 2012 and can't remember… Anyways I will shut up now… This is like a prologue...pr epilogue idek but it's the future but set before the main story if it makes sense.

The cemetery was surprisingly alive with buzz at midnight. The backdrop of owls hooting in the darkness and crickets conducting their symphonies made Byakuya feel less lonely. Moonlight illuminated the whole place in a blue hazy light, casting soft shadows of the tombstones in the ground. There was only one tombstone he was interested in visiting. As long as he could remember, when a Kuchiki was sent to the afterlife, their body was buried in the Kuchiki Mausoleum, a imposing structure built of pure white marble that had survived centuries of erosion. The latest addition to the structure had been his Father and mother who had been killed in a freak accident long ago. The woman he was visiting was not even buried in this mausoleum, his clan hadn't awarded her the privilege of being entombed for life with the nobility.

That was fine though. Her tomb was more beautiful than that slab of marble could ever be. It was a pretty simple tombstone, unmarked due to the fear of his enemies pillaging it. It was located under a cherry blossom tree, it's branches showering the grave down beneath with thousands of pale pink petals. There were no flowers or trinkets surrounding her grave, the petals were enough decoration. Besides, Hisana had loved the cherry blossoms.

It had been nearly a decade since she had passed on to the next life, a victim of an unknown illness that had sapped her will to live from her. Hisana had spent many nights hunched over the toilet, vomiting blood with Byakuya at her side holding her hair away from her face. Fevers and night sweats along with racking coughs had accompanied them as well. This lasted for five years until one day upon waking, Byakuya realized his wife beside him was too stiff, paler than usual and cold as ice. She had passed on without him even noticing, much like everything she did.

Soft footsteps, just like Hisana's brought his attention to the world around him. He turned and saw Hisana herself. Or at least she looked like her. The resemblance was were everything ended though. Both women had the same coal black hair and violet eyes, but Hisana had opted to keep her hair long while her lookalike had chopped it to the chin. Hisana's eyes had been filled with a deep sadness that came from within her, while this woman's eyes were electrifying, like purple lighting. Alive. Rukia, now engaged to him.

"Visiting again?" She asked him. Her voice was full of confidence and commanded respect. Her eyes landed on him after doing a brief scan of the area. The lighting struck and her gaze locked into his.

"I could say the same for you" He simply replied. And to think a decade ago Rukia couldn't even look him in the eyes without turning scarlet red. Now she was almost challenging him to reply.

"I thought I would find you here. Renji was worried where you ran off to since you left the party early" She added.

They were both silent for a moment, neither saying a word. It was a comfortable quiet, not forced or awkward. The wind began to blow softly, sending the fallen cherry petals in a flurry of pink.

"I want to ask you for your blessing, sister" Rukia broke the silence. "I know you are here right now, and I ask that you let us marry".

As if on cue, the wind stopped and the petals settled back on the ground once again.

"Do you think she agreed?" Rukia asked Byakuya, a smile on her face

Byakuya already knew the answer.

"Yes."
