John turned to help the man; Wendy looked to the sky. She could never give anybody directions, because the moment they asked for them, she remembered the directions of the only travel she ached to repeat: first star to the right and straight on 'til morning. She couldn't see the stars now but was nonetheless lost in her memories of the place and boy who lay beyond.
Taking Wendy's hand, John led his sister homeward with a sigh. They both missed Never Land and always would, but they could never return.
