Today

Do you know what today is?" Dan asked Casey one morning in early August.

Casey did, in fact, know exactly what 'today' was. He hated this day. He despised it. He loathed it. He was contractually obligated to do 'today' and that was the only reason he was doing it. Danny knew that. Oh, he knew that very well.

"Ready to go be the manly men that we are?" Dan asked with too much tolerance for 'today'. He didn't mind 'today' at all. He even liked 'today'. Bastard.

"There's nothing remotely manly about this at all," Casey asserted.

Dan simply chuckled and gently pushed him through the newsroom and toward 'today'.

"This is grrrrrrrrrrreeeeaatttttttt."

"If you're a woman. I prefer to eat my guacamole."

Preemptively, Allison, one of the show's hair and make up people, slathered a large and very cold glob of avocado mask across the lower half of Casey's face, effectively stifling him momentarily.

"Did it ever occur to you that if you stopped whining about this for a few minutes, Laura might treat you to one of her toe-curling scalp massages, too? Makes it all worth it, man. Ooooohhhh," Dan sighed blissfully.

"But, it's Beauty Day, Danny!"
