Chapter 1: Flashbacks
He longs for the day that she finally loosens her heart for him... and that very day finally comes...
What if I never knew
What if I never found you
I'd never had this feeling in my heart..
"Do you believe in destiny, Anna?" Yoh suddenly asked. He and Anna were sitting on the grass, silently looking at the stars. "What?!", replied Anna who was clearly startled by his question.
"Destiny. I mean, what if we never met? That we're not meant for each other?", asked Yoh who was becoming more and more scared of what he was thinking. Anna looked at him while her eyes were twinkling.
She just smiled and said, "Yeah, I believe in destiny", she turned around from him. Her back is now facing him. "I asked those same questions to myself", she said as she laid her head down to his chest and continued, "well, sometimes I get frustrated because I can't find the answers. I always want to prove to you and to myself that I am worthy of your love. I often think, what if there's someone more worthy than I am?"
Yoh stayed silent as before. He just hugged her and traced the outline of her face with his fingers. Anna, feeling grateful for his touch, gradually fell asleep in his arms. Yoh sat there, looking at her sweet angelic face.
He was lost in his own thoughts, thinking deeply about their conversation. Several minutes had passed and finally, he made up his mind. Anna slowly stirred awake, finding herself being imprisoned in her fianc's arms. Yoh turned to look at her face and said, "had a good nap, princess?"
"Uh-huh. What about you?"
"Let's just say, I've been thinking a lot lately."
"And may I ask what is it?" Anna showed sudden interest into what he's going to say.
Yoh looked up at the sky and said, "whatever happens now and in the future," he looked down at her, "no one would be able to take you away from me. I won't let them hurt you. That, I promise you." He lovingly kissed her forehead and brought his lips to her ears. "I don't care what other think, say or act. I only believe one thing: I love you very much."
Anna smiled at this. She sighed contentedly in his arms and fell asleep.
"Sleep well, princess. In a few days time, we'll be officially together. I'll do everything just to make that event successful. It will be remembered by each and every shaman, because it's the day that the Shaman King married his one and only love, his Queen." Yoh whispered to his lovely, sleeping beauty. He too, rested against the tree which they were sitting and closed his eyes.
You are my destiny, princess.....
