Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Double Teething Troubles" from Season 5, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.

Bill and Ben work at the clay mines near Brendam Docks. Their work is important, but it can be hot and dirty.

Sometimes, this makes the twins naughty.

One morning, they were feeling very naughty indeed.

"That's my line of cars!" huffed Bill.

"It's not yours, it's mine!" snorted Ben. "Yours is over there!"

The argument continued until Sir Topham Hatt arrived on BoCo.

"I heard that you've two have been causing trouble." he said. "This is causing confusion and delay, and I don't want any of that on my railway!"

Bill and Ben felt bad.

"It seems to me that we need another diesel to help out. Since Diesel isn't available, I will bring Kevin to work with you."

"If I was you, I'd be good." whispered BoCo.

"He's new to the railway." added in Sir Topham Hatt, "and I want him to be really useful."

Sir Topham Hatt walked away.

"I hope this new diesel is useful and doesn't have teething troubles." thought Sir Topham Hatt as he climbed into his car, and drove away.

Sir Topham Hatt was right about the teething troubles. The new diesel, who's name is Derek, broke down on Gordon's hill!

BoCo came to the rescue.

"Sorry." said Derek. "I'm all hot and bothered. I've got teething troubles you know."

Later that day, Percy came to see Bill and Ben.

"I've heard that the new diesel has a bad toothache! Good luck!"

"Why did Percy wish us good luck?" asked Bill.

"Because he knows we'll need it!" replied Ben. "A diesel with a toothache must be the worst diesel of all!"

Just then, the manager came over.

"You will take your loads to Brendam Docks and sleep there tonight." he said. "There's a lot of hard work to do tomorrow."

It was dark when the twins reached the docks. They left the freight cars by a siding and hurried off.

"You do look glum." said Duck.

"It's the new diesel's fault!" replied Bill. "He's got a toothache!"

"He must have teething troubles! This means he's new and causes problems!"

Next morning, as the twins were preparing to take their freight cars away, they heard an unfamiliar horn.

"Oh no! It's the new diesel!"

And it was.

"Hello!" said Derek. "I'll soon have this sorted out. You'll take the front and I'll pull from behind."

All went well as they set off, until they came to a hill.

"Push harder you silly diesel!" shouted Ben.

But Derek couldn't push any harder, and he started to overheat!

And he did!

"Let's try to finish this journey anyway." said the driver.

Bill and Ben worked harder than ever, pulling not just the freight cars, but Derek as well.

And sure enough, the job got done!

That night, Sir Topham Hatt came to see Bill and Ben.

"Well done!" he said. "You are both really useful engines! I have sent the diesel to the Works to be repaired. Can you manage alone?"
"Yes sir!" said Bill and Ben.

The two engines said good-night to each other, but they still chattered about teething troubles, all night long.
