Jenny was sitting quietly in her seat, waiting for the plane to land. She picked up her bible quickly and opened it randomly. There it was again.

"Then Moses went up to Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab and climbed Pigsah Peak, which is across from Jericho." And further down, "So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, just as the LORD had said. The LORD buried him in a vallley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place."

It could be just coincidence or probably that she had opened to it so often the spine was bent in its favor. But every time she opened her bible at random it always fell on these verses. Or on those verses in Jude.

The wheels of the plain hit the runway. She joined the crowd in the isle procuring her overhead bag. Her shoulder felt a twinge of pain as she put the strap over it. Full as usual, so she wouldn't have to check any luggage.

Once through the hassles of the airport she settled into the cab. She looked out over the city. She would rather be on one of those guided tour trips "through the Holy Land". But that would not do. This trip had to be alone, or nearly alone. She cringed.
