"It was 2am in the morning, and the stupid mage would not stop playing that stupid instrument!" Inspired by my own actions of almost playing my trumpet at 2am in the morning. Note, this fanfiction was written when I was more than half-asleep, but I still like the way it turned out. Time period? Before Acid!Tokyo. Probably either Recourt or Piffle, you can choose.

Dedicated to my three best friends. Katie, Whitney, and Aurora. Thank you for keeping me insane. My first fanfiction that has ever turned out well. Please Read and Review!

It was 2am in the morning, and the stupid mage would notstop playing that stupid instrument! Kurogane thought at the very least, Fai would keep down the noise to be considerate of the children, but no such luck so far.

Fai paused for one moment, removing his bottom lip from this new instrument that he learned in this new world called a 'flute' or 'flout', or something like that. Sighing, he looked over at the stoic figure leaning against the wall nonchalantly. "Hey, Kuro-taaaannnnnnnn..." Fai began, a pleading look in his eye.

"What do you want, stupid mage?" Kurogane answered, his eyes glancing from the opposite side of the room to pierce Fai's eyes.

"I'm thirsty! Can you get me something to drink, Kuro-pyuu?" Fai asked, his blue eyes pleading with Kurogane's unflinching, unwavering stare.

"Yeah, I'll get you a drink, mage... when you call me by my actual name. Ku-ro-ga-ne!" Kurogane growled out of his throat, looking away from the mage, oblivious to the smirk that graced the mage's face for a second before it was replaced by his famous, 100-watt smile.

A few seconds later, Kurogane felt the mage's arms circling his torso, Fai's head resting on his shoulder.

"Well, if you won't go to get me a drink, you'll just have to suffice as my drink, won't you, Kuro-sama?" Fai replied, almost purring into Kurogane's ears.

Said ears turned red, Kurogane's fingers twitching and reaching toward his sword with each passing second.

"I mean, I have noticed you glancing at me blowing this flute all night. I bet my little Kuro-kinky has been watching, getting jealous all day!" Fai, if anything, seemed to be getting closer and closer to Kurogane's ear, voice dropping with each word.

"But that would be inappropriate with the children right next to us, Kuro-daddy!" Fai gently slapped Kurogane's face, releasing him from his impromptu hug, oblivious of Kurogane's hand finally grasping Sohi's hilt. "How could you think of defiling my innocence? Think of our children! That's just wrong, Kuro-meanie!"

"Bastard!"

With a final twitch, Kurogane pulled Sohi out of his scabbard and proceeded to chase Fai around their shared room for the next hour.

Unbeknownst to them, the children were long asleep, well used to their 'parents' actions at night.
