It should be obvious, but because it's necessary: I don't own Tales of Vesperia or it's characters.
Raven X Rita. Enough said. No difference in their ages from the actual story.
This is the first time I've ever even tried to write anything like this, so criticism is welcome be it helpful or not. Just don't flame me. Also, Oneshot.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The wind blew fiercely around the grouping of tents. Three tents, arranged in a triangle formation, barely stood against the powerful force of nature. Within Raven's tent lied he and Rita, a pairing that should have been avoided.
--- An hour earlier.---
"I'm going to share a tent with Yuri tonight, and tomorrow we can resupply" Estelle said, preparing her mat within the tent.
"But Yuri's a guy! Shouldn't you and I share a tent instead?" Rita pleaded, having already foreseen how the rest of the tents would end up.
"Well, I..." She stopped.
"Estelle and I will probably go and practice her swordsmanship later on tonight, so it'd be best if we shared a tent." said Yuri.
Tch. Who'd believe that?
Yuri and Estelle would group together. Karol and Judith also decided to share a tent tonight.
"Don't worry Rita, I'm sure even Raven knows right from wrong. I doubt he'd push his luck." Yuri said, followed by a smirk.
What? Are you serious? This is the man who kidnapped Estelle. What makes you think he's gotten any smarter?
Before Rita could push her argument any further, the pairs began settling into their tents. Rita slowly turned to see Raven with a face filled with disappointment.
"Judy, darlin. Here I was thinkin' you'd want to spend the night with me." Raven said, as he dropped his head in rejection. Judith simply replied with a smile and continued setting up her tent with Karol.
Why does HE look upset. I should be the one upset. I have to share a tent with this perverted old man!
"Old man. If you try anything funny, I'll turn you to ashes." Rita stated, eyes burning with rage.
"Yeah, yeah..." Raven replied.
---An hour later---
Rita had yet to fall asleep. She didn't know Raven slept shirtless at night. Add to that the size of the tent, and how close she was lying to him. One could say they were sharing a mat, rather than just the tent. She couldn't help but stare at his athletic build, the hair on his chest as she slowly moved closer to him. Raven began to awake from his slumber as she cuddled up against him, eyes gaping wide at how close they had become.
"Before you get the wrong idea, it has to be below 40 Degrees tonight, and I'll freeze unless I move a bit closer." Rita said as she avoided making eye contact with all her might.
"Heh... Gotcha." Raven answered, as he rose an arm to wrap around her.
As she began to panic, she looked up at the ex-captain's face and for unexplainable reasons, she trusted him. She closed her eyes and embraced Raven now, burying her face into his chest.
---The next morning---
The group prepared to leave as Raven, Yuri, and Karol finished packing up the tents. They began walking, Yuri and Karol leading, Estelle and Judith behind, followed by Raven and Rita. As they continued down the barren road, everyone having a conversation of their own, Rita reached out to Raven and firmly held his hand, looking in every direction but Raven's. Raven let out his signature chuckle and interlocked his fingers with hers as they continued down the road.
So basically, Raven is just outstanding, and a winner in all aspects. Hopefully I'll get better as this as time goes by...
