I galloped into the courtyard, closely followed by my
maid. A stable hand took our mounts and we carried on inside.
I hadn't been in the palace for a long time but it hadn't changed
that much.
A woman in servants dress took my maid and my belongings to the
pages wing. She told me Lord Padraig was waiting. I carried on
through the halls to his rooms. Knocking gently, I entered.
" My Lord " I curtsied.
" Good morning Liana. How is your father?" he asked politely.
" He is fine my lord"
" Good well you know the rules in the palace and I hope you won't go
breaking all of them" he winked at me " Your father hasn't told me
anything, so I'll have to ask you myself… do you have a maid?"
" Yes my lord"
" Weapons?" I nodded
" Good. Do you have a gift? He asked again and looked at me. I
hesitated. No one knew about my gift but Thom. " If you don't want
me to I won't tell your father but you really should attend the magic
lessons"
" What magic lessons my lord? I have no gift." Lord Padraig scowled
" You may go"
I curtsied and exited the room.
