Just a little idea that was bothering me.
Hope you like it.
"I was always an unusual girl. My mother told me I had a chameleon soul, no moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality; just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean." -Lana Del Rey
She fitted perfectly.
Surprisingly this didn't have anything to do with how ridiculously short she was.
Ichigo noticed it first when he saw her at school wearing a fake smile and talking in that sickening sweet sing-song voice that made him cringe every goddamn time. She just went with the flow and in a matter of days she was already part of the gang,
He didn't tell her but her acting skills weren't that bad.
It took a few months but she did it again and this time with his family.
He didn't want to know how she came up with the stupid story of how she lost everything, Byakuya would have been so offended, and how she needed a place to sleep and all that shit, all that he wanted to know was how she did it. She surprised him again but this time it wasn't her acting skills, this time what surprised him the most was that his family accepted her without trouble. The first girl he had brought home, no questions asked.
Yuzu loved Rukia and her bunnies' fetish so they would watch the stupid Chappy on television together. Karin didn't talk too much about it but apparently she didn't mind, he had found them laughing together, at his expenses mind you, and yes he was annoyed but still he couldn't believe it. Karin, the girl who didn't like strangers at her house, was laughing with Kuchiki Rukia.
His dad was a completely different matter. He accepted her and instantly turned her into a third daughter, an honorary member of the family.
In the end he got to the conclusion that she had a chameleon soul, she blended perfectly everywhere.
It was in one hot day of summer in which between training and bickering he told Renji all of this. He didn't know why, maybe it was because he wanted to talk about her with someone and Renji was the only one that knew her better than him or at least used to.
The redhead chuckled and told him how it was the same for him.
He was nothing but a stray dog when he met her. He was running for his life just to get a little water when suddenly, out of nowhere, she saved him from a stupid old man. He would never forget how easily everyone accepted the bossy little girl that talked like a man and wore a dirty kimono.
Renji used to wonder how did she managed to look so much like a Princess even when she was dress like that, of course he didn't tell Ichigo about that little part.
Renji also told him how everything ended when Kuchiki Byakuya stepped into the scene and took her away... he told Ichigo how he would always regret letting her go.
"I would've regretted it too." The orange haired teenager said.
A heavy silence of a few minutes fell between them and they both knew that they were remembering the same night. Rukia crying and saying how she would never forgive Ichigo if he dared to come and save her.
"But you didn't." Renji said finally.
No, he didn't. He swore that he would save her from soul society and from her brother and he did it and he would do it all over again if he had too.
"You know... I'm not letting her go again." Renji said eyeing Ichigo.
The substitute Shinigami smirked, that over confident smirk of his that he used whenever he accepted a challenge.
He wasn't going to let her go either.
Is this little something worth a review? Let me know.
