RECKLESS ANGEL
AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER
Just finished watchin' "Prophecy Girl" on-line and got to thinkin', if someone killed the girl you loved, wouldn't you want a crack at them? Plus, given insinuations in the episode "Angel" about Angel and the Master having history, I always wondered what it'd be like if they had it out. I use a couple of lines from the ep, though things are pretty different from the actual ep. I got the Master's real name from the notes on Welcome To The Hellmouth and I figured Angel would probably know it since he'd been around a couple hundred years and had run around with him, however briefly it was. Belongs to Joss Whedon.
Buffy, Xander, and Angel walked down the street purposefully.
"I know you're wantin' to face the Master, Buff, but save me a piece. I want him," Angel declared, his eyes flashing. When they got to the school, they headed down the hall.
"Angel, you better put your game face on," Buffy advised.
"I'm ready," Angel said, slipping into vampire mode. Then, he growled and turned his head.
"What?" Xander questioned. Angel didn't answer, but took off in a run.
"What is he--that is not the plan," Buffy stated.
"Yeah, well, you won't believe this, but I actually wish I had thought to follow him," Xander commented.
"You're right: I don't believe it," Buffy replied. Angel raced down the halls until he came across the vampire he was looking for.
"Heinrich!" he shouted. The Master turned around.
"You dare speak to me that way?" he questioned.
"That's your name: Heinrich Joseph Nest," Angel retorted.
"You were to be my right hand on this day," the Master told him.
"Sorry. Got a better deal," Angel responded. Then he lunged. The Master put out a hand, halting the souled vampire who found himself frozen in midair. With a wave of his hand, the older vampire sent Angel flying into a wall. He grunted and rose to his feet as the other vampire approached him. Then, Angel tackled the Master and for a few minutes, two scuffled. Angel reared back an arm preparing to strike, but the Master raised as hand, once again immobilizing him.
"Bleed," he commanded, standing. Immediately, blood gushed from Angel's body. He screamed. "Kneel," the older vampire continued. Angel tried to fight the hypnosis, but found it impossible. The Master chuckled and leaned down.
"Did you really think you could stop me?" he whispered in Angel's ear.
"HEY!" At the familiar voice, the older vampire turned around.
"You were dead," he said in shock.
"I may be dead but I'm still pretty…which is more than I can say for you," Buffy answered. Then, she attacked him. The hypnosis broken, Angel dashed inside the library to help Xander and the others.
