What About Now
Hey guys, it's my first lie to me fanfic, obviously to be an M it's gotta be Cal/Gillian Pairing! Any who. Let's get this fic started dearies.
Chapter 1-Shadows
The figures moved around me, all misty and dark. Every time one moved forward, I could see it disappear, and moments later, felt a strange feeling within my heart, making a small, dark, cold patch within the organ that kept me alive. I knew they were not real people, because when they move closer they would become no more solid or clear, yet I knew they were human.
Then it would click soon after that, these were shadows, and not just any shadows, they were the shadows of past people who had been dark omens on my heart and soul.
Soon all but two of the shadows would have blackened my heart, and then both would move forward, one faster than the other. The faster of the two would disappear into my heart just like the others, and just when I thought I could take no more, it would all vanish. The darkness would completely lift, all burdens gone to be replaced by light. The last shadow approached and I prayed I could survive one more disappointment.
He is not a shadow though. He is my saviour, my guardian angel, and he became clear as he stood before me, grinning my smile. He would pull me to his chest, into his welcoming arms as the tears began to fall, and promised to protect me.
Cal Lightman would never hurt me.
I snap out of my reverie as the head honcho himself enters my office, a file tucked under his left arm. I take in his attire slowly, savouring it. A deep midnight black jacket and pants suit, crisp white t-shirt, and of course the polished black Italian shoes I bought him for his birthday. He loved those shoes apparently.
"Mornin' luv, you look happy! Did Alec actually come home last night or is it just me?" He asked in his usual teasing manner.
"Of course it's just you Cal, you can put a smile on any woman's face!" I assured him sarcastically. Well the last part anyway. Cal beamed at me and he looked genuinely happy, but there was another micro expression etched on those handsome features but he replaced his mask and it all disappeared.
