~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~The sun was just setting on the water world of Mon Calamari. Marissa Fett had just gotten back from a flight stramble with her squardon. She was finally able to relax for a while, well at least a day. It was New Year's, galactic standard at least and she wanted to enjoy it.
Dressed in a simply pale blue dress that hung on her and when she moved, flowed like waves. She had just closed her eyes to take a deep breath of the sea air. Something she wasn't accostomed to growing up on Mandalore. As the cool breeze blow past her, she felt two warm hands on her shoulders. Then the person leaned forward to whisper into her ear.
"Been waiting long?"
She smiled and turned around, "For you, I would wait an eternity for you Ganner." She then fell into his embrace.
With a little chuckle, "I'm glad to hear that." He held her close to him for awhile.
Marissa felt something was wrong. She pulled back and looked into his eyes. "My father is no where near this system right now."
Shaking his head. "It's not your father."
"Oh well, Fallon is off chasing that scientist somewhere right now."
"It's not Fallon either." He walked past her and leaned on the railing and looked up at the sky. "This coming year, we'll stop them and then we can start to rebuild the galaxy."
Marissa walked up beside him. "Hopefully. Master Skywalker seems positive, but he also seems to have his doubts." She looked at him. "You really think we can win?" She was rubbing his scar that ran down his face.
He grabbed her hand and pushed it against his cheek. "You're so soft."
She laughed. "Good way to change the subject Rhysode." She leaned back against him and closed her eyes. "You know what I wish for this coming year?"
"What?"
"For us to be able to be together, forever, with no fear of telling my father."
She could feel him smiling. "I wish that too. At least your mother understands, in someways."
"She doesn't mind us being together."
They stood there in each others arms for a while longer. "I have to get going."
Marissa felt Ganner's warmth leave her side. "Can't you stay awhile longer?"
He smiled and gave her a kiss. "I have to go. This is an important mission." He grinned. "I'll be back in no time, I promise."
Marissa gave a weak smile. "Don't do anything stupid."
"Promise." They kissed one more time and Ganner left. "Happy New Year Marissa."
Softly, "Happy New Year Ganner."

Towards the end of the war, Marissa always tried to stay positive for the day Ganner would return, but the news that Jacen brought her broke her down and nearly killed her. Yet right before a new love openned up.
