Time seemed to move at a snail's pace.
I had to wait until my parents fell asleep, which could take forever since my dad has a ritual with falling asleep.
Today was so much fun that I didn't want it to stop.
Steven said we had to go immediately, which was much safer after he described all the things he saw thanks to Garnet's Future Vision.
Things ranging from us walking out in the blizzard to being blown up by some Gem thing, it was really bizarre.
What was more distressing was seeing Steven so concerned. I have never seen him as worried as he was when he was looking at all the possible outcomes.
I really wonder what it's like for Garnet having to deal with the worse situations possible over and over again.
At least we made it home safe. Plus, Steven and his dad are downstairs so they didn't have to drive in the horrible weather.
Wait, what was that noise?
It's Dad snoring. That means that Mom is probably asleep as well.
I have to be really quiet, or else I will get into huge trouble for being awake past my bedtime. I'm pretty sure that Steven would get in trouble as well.
I had to tiptoe past my parent's room, which was the first major obstacle. My parents were very light sleepers so any small noise could wake them up.
Slow and steady wins the race Connie.
YES!
I made it past their door, now leading up to the biggest obstacle of them all, the stairs.
The stairs aren't too bad, but there are a few problem steps. One makes a horribly loud squeak that the neighbors could probably hear. Then there was the one that snapped a while back so if I stepped on it, then I would be in really big trouble.
One step at a time.
Slowly.
Slowly.
I made it!
I looked towards Steven and saw that he was looking at me as well.
I smiled and took a quick look at his dad.
Fast asleep.
When I looked to Steven he was checking on his dad as well. I slowly made my way to the end of the sofa and sat down, my knees up and my hands crossed in front of them. I looked out the window to watch the snow.
Somehow I knew that Steven was doing the exact same thing.
Just looking at how much snow was falling made it clearer that it was the right choice for Steven and his to stay here for the night.
I wish that this could last forever.
Just the two of us.
Watching the snow.
Together.
…
Just a nice little one shot I wanted to write from Connie's point of view at the end of "Winter Forecast."
I always thought it was a nice moment in the series that is often forgotten because of the bigger plot points in the series.
Thank you for reading and review it if you like it.
Peace.
