Spencer hadn't felt this happy for a long time. Well, he never really remembered feeling this happy, ever.
It was only since he started at the BAU that he felt like he belonged, despite the awful cases, the twisted killers and the distraught parents and loved ones, he felt like this was where he was meant to be, and in small moments when on a case, he would look at the team, his family, his lover and smile. He was happy here.
"Everything okay, Spence?" JJ asked as she moved to the back of the jet.
He'd been sat alone, seemingly reading a book at first but then after everyone but JJ and Aaron fell to sleep it became clear he was just staring, thinking, going through things in his head at 100 mph.
JJ sat down next to him, waiting for him to answer her.
"Yeah." It was the first time he'd just given a smile answer, normally there was some fact or tip or something, but today Spencer just seemed very content.
"Do I get to know why?" Spencer smiled at her question before he looked up. He looked up at his lover. Aaron Hotchner, his boss when working, but his lover at every other spare moment they had.
"He told me he loved me." JJ could help but laugh a little, before looking between the two men.
"I love him too." Reid said with a grin, before looking back down at his book.
JJ just smiled before putting an arm around Spencer.
"You're in love, Spence."
"Yeah." The doctor answered, completely unaware that Aaron had been listening, and was now smiling to himself.
They were both very in love.
