Base personnel are rushing to make last minute corrections to the equipment in the room as a shadowy figure looks on. In the center of the room stands a large gate-like object.
Prompt 1: Nerv HQ
Prompt 2: 2359 Hours
The preparations are complete as one of the people turn to the figure in the shadows.
Officer One: We're ready when ever you are Mr. Ikari sir.
Ikari: Proceed.
Officer One: YES SIR!
The gate comes to life as the image of Unit-00 fighting the 16th angle appears within the matrix. Just as the unit self-destructs to defeat the angle, the building shudders.
Ikari: Can any of you tell me what just happened?!
Before anyone can reply, the First Child is thrown through the gate and into a wall. She slumps to the ground, out cold.
Officer Two: It seems sir that we have successfully found a way to travel through time.
As Ikari is processing this information, equipment starts to explode all around. He sees that the First Child has not recovered yet, and shields her with his body. When things have stopped, one of the officers sees a shredded printout on one of the machines. He looks at it in horror.
