You know, when I was a kid I had a slight fascination of sapphires. I thought they were a nice blue color. I also liked the way they sort of sparkled in the light. Soon, I grew bored of sapphires and wasn't interested in any gemstones until I found out about emeralds.
The first time I saw an emerald, it just mesmerized me. It was a beautiful green color that sparkled in any light, natural or otherwise. I guess it also mystified me as to how it could sparkle like that.
When I met Rui (1), I thought she was really pretty. Her eyes were a nice shade of blue that sparkled with innocence but, after a few days traveling with her to save the Pokémon, I soon got over my infatuation with her. I had thought that she'd get over her crush on me after a while, but I was proven wrong.
Three years after the Shadow Incident, Rui came over to my house and asked me if I would want to go out with her. Of course, I answered her with a polite no. She just giggled and said that if I changed my mind I should go to Agate to ask her out. Yeah, right, keep dreaming.
Two years after that, I saw on the news that Cipher was back again. I would have gone off to stop them again, mainly because I was bored, but apparently there was already someone else that was beating the team down. A teenager at that! I didn't really see, or know, who they were until they showed him battle an admin by the name of Snattle.
I had to admit, I was pretty amazed at how he looked. The boy looked almost like a girl, thanks to his curves, fiery red hair that was pulled back with a blue bandana, a black shirt with a yellow vest over it, blue pants, black shoes and startling green eyes. It was his eyes that caught my attention. Thankfully, I was able to catch the teen's name.
His name was Ryuuto.
I turned off the television and thought, a small smile on my face.
His eyes are like emeralds.
That's why I'm interested in meeting him.
