"What's this about?" Sara snapped suddenly. The silence finally getting to her. The whole night Nick barely uttered a word, shot all her attempts to humor him, and stayed opposite of wherever she was. Running a hand through her hair, she stopped the CSI in mid-track, placing a hand on his shoulder to his surprise.

"What's what about?"

"Don't act like it's nothing. You've been ignoring me for the past few hours." She paused, forcing the CSIs eyes to her own. "Just tell me what I did so we can fix this."

Placing his hands in his pocket, he took a step backward. "There's nothing to be fixed. Everything's fine."

She frowned in annoyance. "Nothing to be fixed? Nick, you've been ignoring me. You haven't said a word to me all night. Something is wrong." She placed her hands on both his cheeks. "You can't even look me in the eye."

"Sara, I'll be fine. Everything's fine." He paused. "I just need space."

"Please don't you say everything's fine. I know it's not. I don't like it when you're mad at me."

He sighed. "I know you don't."

"Then why? Why can't you just tell me?"

"Look, I'm not mad at you. I just don't-

"Well it sure looks like it…" She snorted.

"I'm not."

"What are you then?"

Something Sara couldn't put her finger on flashed through Nick's eyes. "Let's just drop it, Sara."

"I won't drop it." She cocked her head, flashing her trademark smile. "Tell me."

His eyes avoided hers. "No, Sara. Just drop it."

"Tell me."

"No."

She pouted. "Tell me."

"We have a crime scene to finish."

"Exactly." She grinned. "That's why you should just tell me."

"I can't."

"Tell me."

"No."

She chuckled, amused at how much he was blushing. "Tell me."

"I said no Sara." He gritted his teeth.

"Tell-

She was cut off by someone's lips crashing into her own. There was something so right, yet so wrong about the situation. Eyes closed, she savored the situation for a few seconds before she came into her senses. Grissom. She had a man who loved her and she was kissing Nick.

She lifted her arms and pushed the CSI away. "This is wrong, Nick."

Shrugging, he ran a finger through her lips before walking away. "Which is exactly why I couldn't tell you."
