Only Human-
A.N.: So to say that I've been a slacker, is like, an understatement. But this is a really, really amazing idea that I JUST CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT! Honestly. I need to write this. It's a collection of free verse poems about all the times our favorite heroes felt like giving up, when they were pushed to the breaking point. Inspired by the song HUMAN by Christina Perri.
Disclaimer: I don't own PJO, and if I did I wouldn't be wasting time on fanfiction. Instead, I'd be busy writing the Blood of Olympus.
Saviors-
Since day one,
We were meant for this.
Even if we didn't know it.
Our lives were mapped out
Before we were even born.
Who we would hate
And who we would love.
Who would live through it all,
And in the end,
who would die.
And we can't help but think
As we stare at the field filled with the bodies
Of family and friends and lovers we have lost
When will it stop?
When will all this pain and suffering
That we have endured for every day
Finally be enough to satisfy the Fates?
We are saviors,
We are heroes,
But you forget that we are only human.
No one ever asked us,
If this was what we wanted.
We sacrifice our lives
For the sake of a world that barely knows,
Or even cares,
That we are saving it.
Because if we don't,
Who will?
