Restful Revenge
He smiled serenely, passively,
Watching them burn.
Letting their deaths soothe his tortured soul,
Their blood washing away his pain.
Agonized screams; music to his ears
Charred bodies; a view to behold
Their lives; fleeing, fading, ebbing away
Feeding a darkness which smothered his being.
Lives snuffed out like candles in the wind,
His need for revenge; satisfied, for now
