"Where should we bury Snape?"
The question that had been asked over and over again. Everyone had their own opinions but no one could decide which was best. Some people wanted him to be burned like the other Death Eaters and his ashes given to family or loved ones. Others believed he should lie where all those who fought for the Light and died were being laid to rest. And others really didn't care either way...
But one person wanted him to be put to rest in a completely different place, one that they thought Severus Snape would like. Well, like and hate at the same time. Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, Vanquisher of Tom Rid-er I mean Lord Voldemort, was this one person.
"Godric's Hollow."
All argument ceased as the debaters all turned to the green eyed young man.
"Why there?" Hermione asked quietly. Harry shrugged.
"Well it makes sense. He was a spy, so he shouldn't be cremated like the Death Eaters, but too many people would be angered if he should be put with their fallen friends and family. So he should be put to rest in Godric's Hollow, next to the only woman he loved." In all honesty what he said made sense but something he said had thrown a couple of people.
"Wait a second! Snape loved?" This was Ron. The redhead was amazed at the idea.
"It was in the memories he gave me. He loved my Mum until the day he died. Why do you think he became a spy in the first place? He asked Tom to spare Mum's life but he didn't so, grieving, Snape turned away, never to return. So, I propose that Snape be buried in Godric's Hollow in a private ceremony that I want to organise. Anyone disagree?" Harry stated, his eyes sparking as if to dare them to disagree. No one did.
And so Severus Snape, Potions Master and spy for the Light was buried in Godric's Hollow next to Lily Potter. The ceremony was private and paid for by Harry. Those in attendance in included Draco and Narcissa Malfoy, the Golden Trio and those from Slytherin who had been personally helped by Severus throughout their schooling. His gravestone was simply made out of obsidian. Inscribed on it, under a lily, were the words:
Here lies Severus Snape,
Potions genius,
A noble Slytherin,
A man without whom the world wouldn't be the same,
Nor as Light.
And every year, on All Hallow's Eve, a single lily would be laid on the grave by a certain, green eyed man.
