Summary: As Seras lied in her pond of blood, she thought about her childish deal
A childish deal
When she was just a little girl, Seras always dreamt about what she was going to be – a princess waiting for a prince like Snow White? Or become Cinderella by a wave of a magical wand?
"I will be Cinderella." Seras told her buddies. They laughed, and she ran all the way home crying.
Whenever she cried, her mum always pulled her up to sit on the lap. She told Seras her favourite stories, but this time the tears won't stop.
"Fairytales don't exist. Is that true?"
"Hush, my girl." She kissed her tears away. "Whatever will be, will be – even if they don't exist."
"Promise?" Seras wriggled her little finger. "Yes, but promise me if you are unhappy again, don't stop running home and tell me about it. Deal?"
"Deal!" The promise was sealed with an everlasting smile.
It lasted for perhaps thousands of seconds. The family was destroyed that night. And she remembered every second of it.
After that some distant relatives welcomed Seras to a new home. Though no matter how they treated her as their own daughter, they always found their girl disappear from time to time, only to discover her on the footsteps of the empty house.
"I want to talk to mum." Dried tears stained her face. "When will I be allowed in my own home?"
"Soon my little lady, I promise." An old man offered Seras his hand. "Once you turn eighteen and become a real lady."
Seras had not only become a lady, but had also become a policewoman. Several hours before her first official petrol, she was given the key to her home. And she ran all the way.
"They call me 'kitten'. Well it is just a kind of pet name, but I want to be someone like you, father." Seras looked at the faded picture in frames stained in blood that could not be washed away. "I have always kept the promise. And I am going to live with it in this very house. I will tell you everything about it tonight after my first petrol. I can't wait it to be over now!" She took a final look at the redecorated home – the courtesy of her uncle – and left for her ambition.
All seemed to be over too soon.
As Seras lied in her pond of blood with a hole through the lung, the last moments of her parents flashed in her mind. She thought about the deal.
"I am sorry that I have to shot through your lungs." Alucard spoke. "It's such a large hole. You won't last long." A chuckle resonated in the darkness.
"What are you going to do?"
Tears poured freely out of the misty eyes, while the pain gradually left her consciousness. "I am going to keep the promise," she thought, and Alucard opened his mouth.
Seras remembered her mum's last words. An imagination popped up.
"I am going to be Cinderella." She smiled as fangs sank into her neck.
