Story: Reborn

Author: Baby Giggles

Disclaimer: I've written this story…

The ravens around me caw at me as they fly around me. Sometimes they are indeed brave enough to swipe at me with their wings as they pass by. The wind out here is strong and it pulls at me, urging me to do it. I am just waiting for the right moment.

Yesterday was awful! Not only because you left me, but because you took my life with you when you said, "Goodbye, its over." Before you walked out the door, leaving me with nothing but tears blurring my eyes and pieces of my broken heart scattered around me. Some of the pieces you took with you, seemingly to keep me from rebuilding my heart. Other pieces you trampled down in the soft carpet with your boots.

I missed you the second you walked out that front door. And now I sit here, waiting or the right moment. On the kitchen table back home lays a sealed envelope addressed to you. The only thing written on the paper inside is "Goodbye, I loved you. –H–"

Tomorrow it is going to be all over the news. I don't know what they are going to write, I don't care. I stand up to stare down at the sharp rocks a hundred feet below. I walk closer to the edge… then look up at the sky where storm clouds have gathered. Any moment now… A raven caws again, another swoops down in front of me. A raindrop lands on my cheek and I take the last step to freedom. The air around me is soothing and I can't hear a thing. The ground races towards me, but I feel only satisfaction. Only a couple of feet away from the ground I can feel my body changing. Suddenly I hear a thundering rumble, he a sickening crunch as I hit the stones. Strangely, but there is no pain, and I feel my self rising up into the air. I look down, there lies my body! I open my mouth to scream, but all that comes out is a raven's caw. Suddenly all the ravens around me let lose a mighty caw too and I start to understand. My body may be dead, but my soul has been reborn.

Please tell me what you think of this.
