A/N: Hey everyone. This is my FIRST EVER fanfic so if you really want to tear it to shreds and burn the remains, then feel free to do so. But tell me why first so you don't do the same to the rest of my fics that I plan to write. So yes, Flames are accepted but I would like a bit a criticism with it. Any other comments and I'll be sure to send you a big fat cookie!
Disclaimer: I don't own any characters or storylines associated with Bleach but I sure wish I did!
A Single Tear
Soi Fong had felt her heart harden the day Yoruichi left. She had burst into the hall that Yoruichi presided from, the very same hall where she was taken in under Yoruichi's wing. Soi had burst in to find the chair where her master would sit vacated and Soi couldn't hold back anymore. Her vision blurred with tears that fell silently to the floor as she stumbled over to the chair. She draped herself over the chair, wishing that this whole thing was just a dream and that she would wake up in Yoruichi's arms but yet knowing that it would never be true. She cried until it hurt and then she cried some more. She thought to herself 'If she isn't here, where is she? Why isn't she here? Why did she leave? Why didn't she take me with her? Was I not useful to her? Why did she promise to let me stay by her side if I wasn't useful?'
All these questions and more flew through Soi's mind as she sat a cried over that chair that Yoruichi sat in. Soi came to a resolution then. If Yoruichi left her here now, then Soi would have to be the one to take over the Corps, to hunt down the traitorous Yoruichi. Soi would become the arm of justice in soul society, and it would be all because Yoruichi left her here on that day.
Soi stood up and wiped her face of the few tears that threatened to fall down face again. She turned towards the door she had flung open in her search and held her head up high, with a scowl on her face. As she turned back to look upon the room once more before shutting the door forever, the thought of Yoruichi sitting the that chair giving Soi the cat-like smile that always seemed to be on her face, a single final tear escaped her eye.

Yoruichi knew, even before she left seireitei, that she was breaking Soi Fong's heart. And in a way, she was breaking her own heart too. She knew the way that Soi looked at her whenever she scolded the young girl for calling her one of those boring official names. She knew how hard Soi had trained to be selected for Yoruichi's personal bodyguard. Yoruichi loved her subordinate too but a relationship with the girl was impossible, her family would never approve of it. Soi had promised to stay by her side forever, but now Yoruichi was breaking the only promise that she knew she would ever want to keep. Helping Kisuke escape was only helping a friend in need.
Using shunpo, Yoruichi darted out of Seireitei towards the outlying area of rukongai, towards where Kisuke would be waiting for her to arrive. The trees rushed by her, her speed melding them into a green and brown streak. Then a small clearing appeared in the trees and she saw her friend waiting for her. She studied him fro a moment, looking at the unkempt beach blonde hair the matching stubble on his chin and the outrageous beach hat that he had bought to blend into the real world. She decided against what her heart told her to do, and followed what her brain was telling her, and as she thought about how she was never going to be able to tell Soi Fong her feelings, a single tear escaped her eye.
