"Alexis, why did you have to do this?" Carmilla said scrubbing the wall, "Your mother will not be happy." Alexis remained silent watching her momma scrub.
"Don't give me the silent act," Carmilla looked over at her daughter who was a spitting image of her mother.
Alexis had tears forming in her eyes, "No, no, no, don't make me feel bad. Lexis, I love you, but you really need to keep your pictures on paper."
Alexis was upset that her mothers would be upset with her. Tears began streaking down her face and Carmilla broke, "Come here, Alexis," Carmilla wrapped her arms around her daughter as she cried into her shoulder.
"I didn't mean to make you upset, but you can't draw on the walls, ok?" Carmilla felt a nod, "Next time, draw on me instead." Carmilla didn't think before she said it, but found it as a better alternative than the wall.
"Carm, why are there permanent markers on the floor?" Laura asked walking through the door. Laura walked trying to find her wife. She found her holding their daughter and seen the drawing. She looked down and seen the worried face of her wife and knew their daughter was crying.
She sat down next to them, "I don't really like the area you've chose to draw on, but it looks really good," Laura said and letting out a light chuckle when her daughter's head popped out of hiding.
"You're not mad?" Alexis asked in a small voice.
"A little, but it's alright Can we not draw on the wall next time?" Laura asked.
Alexis nodded and smiled, "Momma said I could draw on her. I want to make a picture like yours on her." Laura and Carmilla laughed at the excitement of their daughter.
"Why don't you go get some markers so we can start?" Laura asked and laughed at Alexis running away excitedly. "You don't know what you just promised," Laura laughed before kissing Carmilla.
"It's better than the wall. Are you really upset about the wall?" Carmilla asked.
"Not really, I think you can find a way to improve it a bit," Laura said before leaning on Carmilla.
"I'm not messing with our daughter's art," Carmilla said surprised at Laura.
"No, just make it where Perry won't have a fit the next time she comes over," Laura said.
"I'll have to think about how. I like it how it is now," Carmilla argued.
"I do too, I'm torn between keeping it or having you change it," Laura said.
"Mommy, I got the markers," Alexis said before sitting in her mom's lap.
After a few hours of drawing on Carmilla, Alexis eventually drifted off watching Laura draw on Carmilla's ribs. Laura attempted to finish her drawing before Carmilla tried to get up.
"Laura, she's asleep, stop," Carmilla said quietly.
"Hold on," Laura concentrated for a final line, "there, look."
Carmilla looked down to see Laura carefully drew out a heart with a panther and two girls cuddling against it inside it. Carmilla felt speechless, "I love it, I wish I could actually have it there forever."
"I'm sorry, but I'm thinking about getting it," Laura said before kissing her cheek.
"Can you go over it in permanent marker several times?" Carmilla asked.
"Sure, lay back down," Laura said before grabbing a marker. Laura looked over quickly at her daughter's drawing on the wall. It was a picture of her, Carmilla, and Alexis and it said family at the top; Laura smiled knowing Carmilla felt the same way when she first looked at it. This was their family and they all loved each other.
