Immediately, his eyes glazed over
Immediately, his eyes glazed over. His hand, which had been holding hers so tightly a moment before, went limp and slipped away. She probably shouldn't have brought up the topic.
She shouldn't have asked about Yue.
She just wanted to know…know about how he could love her if he loved someone else. She watched him silently, unsure of what to say, or if she should say anything at all. "I love Yue," he said, eyes still staring over her shoulder at an indistinguishable point in the distance.
"Thanks… that's exactly what I want to hear. I thought you said you loved me, just a moment ago." Suki knew she should probably be more understanding, but it was hard when the person you loved didn't love you back. She turned away from him, not wanting him to see how hurt she truly was.
"Wait…Suki, I do love you. But I can't stop loving her."
"Great. So I have to go through my life with a boy that doesn't love me one hundred percent. Should I leave? Am I not wanted?" she turned away from him again, not quite intending to leave, but not wanting Sokka to see the tears in her eyes. She tried to tell herself that she was the tough girl, but she couldn't help it. She had fallen for this boy, and he didn't care
"No, no, no. It's just that… Yue's dead…"
"Ohhh," she said, forcing a bitter, hollow laugh. "So maybe if I killed myself, you'd care. Seems like a steep price to pay just to get some love from you."
She felt a rush of vicious, maniacal glee as Sokka winced at this.
He was saying everything wrong. Internally, he gave himself a slap. "No, no Suki. Just hear me out. Loving Yue doesn't make me love you any less. In fact, I love you more now. I couldn't have loved someone this much if first I had loved and lost. Now I know what it's like to lose your love and I know you shouldn't take it for granted, see? So even though I love two girls, I do love you one hundred percent, and it's possible, and I love you even more now that I know what it's like to lose something you love so much. I love you. And…"
"Stop, Sokka. You're embarrassing yourself. You just said the same thing about ten times. And I understand." Suki hated herself in the moment. She had become a jealous monster, but now all she wanted to do was apologize and fall back into his arms. She hated how cliché she was becoming.
And then she was laughing, She couldn't help it. She couldn't believe how petty this argument was. She was like a jealous, greedy five year old, and he was bewildered and terrified by her ferocity. She began laughing so hard that her whole body shook, and she began to make odd hiccupping noises. Sokka was uncertain of what she should do. He chuckled awkwardly, keeping his distance.
She closed the distance between them, wanting Sokka to know that he was fully forgiven, but quaking and giggling to much for coherent speech. Once she had calmed down somewhat, she looked up at him, arms around him tight, and said, "I love you too. But now that I heard all about Yue, you get to her about my torrid affair with Foamy."
"Foamy? That rabid guy on Kyoshi Island? God, I don't think I'm ready for this… Was Foamy really his name?"
"I honestly don't have a clue. But it was hot; everything was hot."
"This is too much information."
They were cackling, hooting and rolling on the ground. Well past the time they usually went to sleep. They just couldn't stop. Stomachs were clutched in agony, and tears were shed.
"I love you," choked Suki, in hysterics.
"I love you more," Sokka choked back
"Oh gosh, my abs,"
"Just power through it, laughing a great workout,"
And they did, straight through to dawn.

A/N: Oh, goodness. I know this story is cliché, so you don't have to point it out in your reviews. I just have an obsession with Sukka, and could not think of a better plot.
