The Doctor was standing at the console various TARDIS parts scattered all around him when a distress cry alerted him that his young companion was awake. He sprinted down the hall and burst into her room banishing the sonic. Finding no immediate threat, he looked at her confused.
"Amelia what's wrong?" He asked coming to stand by her bed.
"My stomach hurts bad," the seven year old said. unshed tears glistening in her eyes.
Biting his lip in concern, he ran the sonic over her lightly. "A mild case of motion sickness," he concluded. "Not used to time travel just yet. Never fear Miss Pond I have just the thing."
The doctor disappeared and returned with a child-sized mug. He handed it to her and she sniffed cautiously. "What is it?"
Ginger tea, you'll feel better in no time, trust me I'm a Doctor." With that he coaxed the tea down her throat and sat gently rubbing her back. "Better?" he asked after a minute.
Amelia nodded, her eyelids drooping. "Sleep Amelia, all of time and space awaits you when you wake."
"Don't leave," she whispered fiercely.
"Never," he promised placing a kiss to her forehead.
Amelia drifted off safe in the assurance that her raggedy doctor would watch over her until the end of time.
