Sometimes, she hated him. It wasn't even the many years of conditioning and brainwashing that caused her to hate him. It was him and his inability to focus, or his lack of time management, but mostly, it was his inability to drive.

You would think that after having the ship and flying it for over nine hundred years, he would be able to properly drive.

She had been upset at first. Then very angry, followed by self-pity and sadness. After crying for a few hours and scaring the guards - They were apparently more used to her just disappearing or flirting or, well, anything but crying - she had rationalized it.

A dead man, brilliant and mad or not, cannot just show up at one of the most well known prisons. Certainly not to visit his killer.

Then he had just shown up. Wearing a party hat and carrying cake. He had immediatley started bouncing around, placing balloons and streamers.

River sighed and looked up from where she had been staring at her bed. She was suddenly face to face with the Time Lord.

"I'm late, aren't I?"

She nodded and was immediately swept up into a hug.

She really did love him.
