My Cryptic Howls to Thee

A. J. F. Link

Dost thou see the unmatched charms of nature?

Art thou ensnared by man's creation?

I, the fox, persuade thee to adventure

Into the woodland of ever-bring

Imagination of vulpine kind.

Nothing is more peaceful than my own home.

The morning wind's breeze against my fur;

The stars and Glowing Rock seen clear at night;

It is the forest, my dwelling, to roam.

Yet, humans do not want it to endure.

Why must thy kind destroy my kit and life?

Dost thy own kind have sadistic pleasure?

I watch protectively thee at thy side;

Please! Help a vixen whose howls sound the night!
