For Easter. SkulPles belongs to Derek Landy. Unless I'm in his Will or just forgot, I'm not him and will never own the book. Don't be suing.

Stephanie opened her eyes slowly, and squeezed them shut again. The sun was coming into the window at an angle that annoyed her, so she pulled her blankets over her head. The warmth was inviting, and she was sure nothing she was supposed to do today could be that important…

Within minutes she was breathing deeply, asleep again.

Desmond Edgley looked at the calendar, as he did (almost) every morning in an attempt to make sure he knew the date and not go to work on the weekends. Dressed in a suit and tying his tie, he found the date… And his wife, behind him, laughed. "It's Sunday, take that off."

"…Really? I could have sworn today was the day I met with those guys from Primatech about a new building…" He frowned, looking down at himself.

"Nobody works on Sundays, and if they do, definitely not Easter Sunday."

"…Ah." Easter. Easter! "Honey, its-" He turned, eyes wide, only to find his wife with a bag of candy and another bag of empty plastic eggs.

"Easter, I know." She sigh-smiled at him. "Honestly, what would you do without me?"

"…Hire a secretary?" He answered too fast, and watched the smile drop from her face quicker then Stephanie ran from schoolwork. "Wait, um… Uh…" He tried to figure out something to say that would correct the situation, and ended up with "You look nice today… yeah."

She just sighed again and shook her head, but the lilt in her voice made him realized that she was smiling. "As do you. Now take off the tux."

"What tux?"

She raised an eyebrow at him, crossing her arms with a little difficulty from the extra objects in her grasp. "Look down."

He did so. "Oh, that tux!"

Stephanie stirred, rolled over, and groaned when her covers twisted around her uncomfortably.

She waited for them to untangle themselves.

They didn't, and she ended up slipping back into her dreams.

Desmond stuffed the eggs with single-minded intensity, and his wife hid them around the house, and when she discovered there were far more then she originally thought, in the yard.

"Hey, how many were there?" She thought to ask after a moment, and her husband looked at her cluelessly.

She muttered something under her breath, and decided that if they got more then forty of them, it would be acceptable to have the others hide around.

Checking the clock, Mrs. Edgley was surprised that Stephanie wasn't up yet. She used to love the Easter Egg hunt…

Stephanie rolled over again, and her eyes snapped open when nothing but air met her. Halfway to the floor, her arms flung themselves out and she found herself pushed up nearly onto her feet by the sudden gust that filled the room.

She looked at the dark carpet for a moment, then at her hands, and resisted saying something along the lines of "Louis… I think I might be Jesus."

As soon as she got off the bed with a light 'thump,' the door opened and her mother burst in, grinning from ear to ear. "Stephanie, do you know what today is?" She asked waaaay too cheerfully oh God mom go away…

"…No?" Stephanie said after a second, rubbing her head and wishing she was still asleep.

"It's Easter, come on!"

And thus, Stephanie was subjected to a day of hunting eggs instead of hunting trolls.

A/N: ...It's plotless and bland, I know, but I was bored and this was the best I could do on such short notice. .

Also, I love her parents. No joke.
