Summary: Lorne's thoughts after losing Teyla during the Kindred.
Failure:
His mother had taught him many things one of these ran through his mind at this particular moment. For every supposed failure he would find some positive regard in the experience. A sentiment he was trying to emulate now although it was in vain. He sincerely doubted she had meant that opportunities arise from catastrophes. He was classing his failure as a full scale disaster and so he was not sure it still applied.
He was in charge of his team and had lost his most vulnerable member. In the war they were currently engaged in he had come to expect casualties but he had not truly considered the loss of a much beloved expedition member.
Teyla Emmagen had come to be something of a sister to all the commands Atlantis and so the pain and sense of failure he felt at having not protected her and her unborn child was acute. He knew he had to get back to Atlantis if there was any hope of recovering her before Michael exacted his revenge.
First though, he had to tell his CO, CSO and Ronon that he had lost her realizing that only then would he feel the true extend of the damage this loss would cause.
He prayed then, prayed for her safe return and that her baby would also be well for he knew he would never forgive himself were anything to go wrong. Even if they brought her home safely he would never feel anything positive about the experience. He surmised if he survived this and ever went home he would have to tell his mother so.
A/N: Please leave a review. I have no idea if I spelt Teyla's or Ronon's name right I have no access to the internet at the minute.
