If you've read my fic "The Spoken," you've probably noticed that my Les Amis is petitioning the school board to try to get Under God removed from the pledge. Well, this is actually based on something that my friends and I are attempting. After finding out that I would be finishing all the research on my own tonight, I got rather miffed... And this is the result... You can check my xanga (in my profile) for the full circumstances. smirk Please, please, don't take offense at this... It's probably not even that funny... If anybody feels that I should remove this, I will.

On my own. Pretending that Enjolras is beside me to help, because I don't doubt that he'd prefer that "under God" not be recited in the pledge daily by innocent schoolchildren not knowing that the government is slowly creeping in to control their lives, thoughts, words, and religious preferance!!! All alone, I shall research with him 'till... er... about eight hours until morning when I'll go to bed. Without him, I feel that he's beside me, and when I lose my place I lift my pen and he has found me!
In the light, the newly-drying ink shines like silver; all the lights are rough on the eyes and overheating my bedroom. In the darkness, the trees are full of insects, and all I see is governmental reform somewhere in the future...
But I know that's only in my mind; that I'm trying to move a rock that's not going to budge. And although I know that certain people running the government are somewhat brain-dead and extremely corrupt, still I say, there's a way for us.
I hate Bush, but when the night is over, he's still there, he really Didn't choke to death on a pretzel like I dreamed. With him there, the economic state of the nation worsens- and independant thoughts are far and few between, and we're chasing off talented forigners and declaring war on rather random countries!
I dream on, but every day I'm learning, all my life, I've only been pretending! With or without me, the world is still gradually distroying its self; Utopia's full of happiness that we will never know!
I hate Bush
I hate Bush
I hate Bush
But the majority of America, as shown from the election, disagrees...
