AN: Prompt number 18 - "Pirates".

"This place gives me the creeps, Roxas."

"You were the one who said we needed to come here."

"Well, we do. But that doesn't mean I like it here. Captain Sparrow scares me."

Roxas sighed, shaking his head. It had been at Sora's insistence that they came here, to Port Royal, and now he was complaining about it. Admittedly, Port Royal was a foreboding place, especially with the permanent gloom that had been cast over the place. However, it wasn't any more dangerous than the rest of the worlds they'd been visiting.

What made this world strange and highly unusual were the creatures that constantly attacked them. Roxas was used to the Heartless and Nobodies by now, but here the fiends seemed to look human, at least until they stepped into the moonlight. That, decided Roxas, was worse, because then they resembled walking skeletons wearing ragged clothes. Even aboard the Interceptor, the beings just kept appearing out of nowhere, though admittedly not in such great numbers.

They were heading to Isla de Muerta, to return the final piece of Aztec gold and end the curse for ever. Well, at least until someone else decided to try stealing it. This had been an accident – one coin had somehow ended up in Sora's pocket the last time he'd been here. Roxas knew that a blood payment was required in addition to the return of the gold, and he had a sneaking suspicion that Sora's blood alone wouldn't be sufficient. He was, after all, part of Sora, in a way.

They walked through the cave, which Roxas had never seen before. Sora was shaking so badly he had trouble walking, until Roxas placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Thanks, Roxas."

"Don't mention it."

Before long, they reached the large cavern with the cursed treasure. Sora pulled the coin out of his pocket and accepted the knife that Elizabeth Swann held out to him.

"You know what to do, Sora."

Gritting his teeth, Sora made a cut in his palm, brushed some of the blood onto the coin and dropped it into the chest. Nothing happened. Sora looked confused, since that was supposed to end the curse. Moving closer, Roxas prised the knife out of his hand, repeating Sora's actions. That time, it was obvious it had worked.

"I'm sorry, Roxas. This wasn't supposed to involve you, too."

"How could it not, when I'm your Nobody?"

"My Other." Sora was insistent that Roxas wasn't referred to as a Nobody, having explained at great length to everyone else exactly who Roxas was.

"Your Other, if you insist."

"I do."

"Thought you might."
