Gwen pounded on the door, bitting her lip. "Open this door right now, Jack!" She was pissed. "Open the bloody door!" Her hormones were making her a bit testy. "I swear I'll kill you, and when you come back, I'll kill you again!" She looked at Rhys for support.
"You better open up, mate. I think she might actually do it." Rhys put his hand on her shoulder, pulling her back from the door. "Calm down, love. Gotta be hard for him."
Gwen was about to speak when the door opened. The couple stared in shock at the man standing in front of them. It was Jack, but no in his usual Captain Jack attire. He was wearing a suit, and actual suit. He had the black pants, the white shirt, a waistcoat, and jacket over it, all topped off with a tie. Gwen almost thought it wasn't him for a brief moment.
"Sorry." He walked down the hallway, leading them down to the car. He got into his new car, Gwen and Rhys joining him.
The drive was silent. Gwen felt her heart breaking at the sight he gave. Captain Jack Harkness wasn't suppose to be like this, he was suppose to be well, he was suppose to act like Captain Jack Harkness. She never thought that Ianto's death would impact him so.
They drove up to the graveyard, parking along with the rest of the cars. Jack walked in front of Gwen and Rhys, quite and solemn. They all came up to the grave, standing beside the coffin. Flowers adorned the top of it, elaborate and beautiful. Gwen hid her face in Rhys, holding tight to him.
Jack looked at the coffin with dead eyes. He alone knew what was in the coffin. Nothing. The night before he had gone to the funeral home and removed the body. Torchwood had a policy. No Torchwood worker could be buried away from a secure Torchwood location. No one else knew that Ianto Jones wasn't in the coffin.
Jack stood their numbly the entire time, not listening as the priest spoke. He walked away as they started to lower the coffin into the ground. He wanted no part of it. He walked across the graveyard, going to the edge of the cliff it was situated on. He looked down at the town below them, and then up at the sky.
"I won't forget you." His words were carried away by the gentle breeze moving through the air. "I swear it. I love you."
I feel so bad that Ianto is gone, it breaks my heart. Please review, tell me what you think.
