I Love You, Obliviate

Harry stood waiting at the top of the tower. He looked out over the school grounds, watching the ever darkening sky. "Draco." He turned around hearing his partner's sobbing. He came face to face with the tip of a wand. "Draco, what are you doing?"

Draco's voice wavered as he tried to get his words out. "I have to do this."

Harry froze and his hand went instinctively to his ring around his neck. "Draco, what-?"

"You have to understand." He sniffled, trying to keep a grasp on the courage he recently found. "I have to do this! I have to protect you or he's going to kill you!"

Harry licked his lips and held back tears. "Please, Draco, don't."

"I love you." Draco pressed his lips together, unable to hold his tears back. "Obliviate." Harry fell back against the railings and the two shared one last look, before his eyes went blank and he passed out. Draco reached down and yanked Harry's ring from around his neck. "I'm so sorry, Harry. Be happy."
