Chapter 1: The Offer
After Shiki Fūjin is used, the user and target are sent to the Shinigami's Stomach. However, no one knows what this place looks like except for those that enter it. It is common knowledge that the stomach is the same, however this isn't true. The Shinigami's Stomach is ever-changing, what it changes to is random, it can be a space of endless white or could be endless black. Another setting that has appeared is a grand forest. All these places are not there to make life easier for the inhabitants, it is to make their lives more difficult for the souls to battle each other.
On this particular day, the Shinigami's Stomach has the appearance of a wasteland ravaged with scorched craters. Several of these craters are currently smoking, as if a great attack has just struck that area. In an area of the wasteland, you see a figure running. The figure is a blue-eyed, spiky haired blond man wearing a green flak jacket, black ANBU pants, standard blue shinobi sandals, kunai holster on his right leg and a white cape with red flames on the bottom. A few miles behind the blond figure is a red furred fox with nine tails chasing after him.
"Get back here Minato Namikaze!" The fox roars. 'So, the kyūbi knows my name?' Minato pondered, 'Doesn't really surprise me since he was in Kushina previously.'
Soon Minato could feel intense pressure behind him. He looked back and noticed the Kyūbi had stopped to charge a Bijūdama. Minato stopped and prepared himself for the coming attack. Kyūbi had fired the Bijūdama at Minato, however before he could use his Hiraishin no Jutsu, the ball stopped in mid-air and vanished. A great distance away from them, Minato and Kyūbi saw a great explosion from the attack.
Before the two could go back to attacking each other, they noticed a middle aged female walking up to them. The woman had waist length light blue hair with a blue flower ribbon tied near the base of her head. She wore a blue sleeveless dress with a black sash around her waist, the dress ended above her ankles showing her blue shinobi sandals. When the mysterious lady was close enough, Minato and Kyūbi could tell she had ocean blue eyes that could pierce anyone's soul.
"Was wondering when you two would notice me, Minato and Kurama," said the mysterious woman. Kurama gasped "Who are you and how do you know my true name?" questioned the great fox.
"That is very simple Kurama, I know this for I am Kami." Both Kurama and Minato stood their speechless. They were both in the presence of Kami, the creator of life. Slowly both Kurama and Minato overcome their shock of seeing Kami in flesh.
"Not to be rude Kami-sama, but what do you want with us?", asks Minato. Kurama gives Minato a shocked looked thinking that he has gone crazy. To both their surprise, Kami lets out a soft chuckle.
"Straight to the point like always Minato, I am here to give both of you a second chance outside this place." To say the least, both Minato and Kurama looked confused. "To be more specific, Minato you will be able to live with your son and Kurama, you will be more calm and free than in this prison." Kami clarified.
"What is the catch?" Minato questioned, at this Kurama looked at Kami to see what he meant.
"Not too much really, but they will involve both of you." States Kami, "First you Minato, you will be a newborrn. Instead of Kushina just giving birth to Naruto, she will have two boys. One will be Naruto the other will be you." Minato was about to protest but Kami continues, "I know that it would change the way you remember it, but think about how others would react if another child would appear next to Naruto." At this Minato nods in understanding. "Kurama would become your nin-kitsune."
"Wouldn't my appearance by the kits be questioned too?" Asks Kurama.
"That can be remedied," stated Kami. "Is there anything specific you want when going back?"
"I want to be able to start over." Kurama stated. "I have lived the past several decades not the way my father wanted me to. I want a clean slate to do what is right. The best would be to have me born as a kit, but one that can access chakra like those nin-ken can use."
"I know I will miss Kushina," Started Minato. "But if I have my memories in tact, I will be living with the guilt of what could have been. So I want to start anew as well and be there for Naruto. Also as for Kurama, he could be born to a couple kitsunes a year before the attack."
"How does that sound to you Kurama?" Asks Kami.
"I am okay with that." States Kurama.
"So essentially we will be entering an alternate timeline. What will happen to Kurama's Yin Chakra when the sealing takes place in the new timeline?" Minato questions. At this Kurama perked up since he wouldn't know how two Yin chakra's would exist.
"Well, since Kurama will be born anew as a kit, he would no longer be the Yin Half." Kami replied, "After that there are three options. First, seal all of Kurama's chakra into Naruto. Second, have same thing happen as before and seal Kurama's Yin chakra into Alternate Minato. Final option would be seal the Yin Chakra into you Minato. You have another choice to make."
'Hmmm, lets see here. If I chose to seal the full amount of Kurama's Chakra into Naruto, who knows what will happen.' Thought Minato, 'If I have older Minato seal the Yin chakra into him, I might not be resented since there would be no seal on me. However, that would cause Naruto to be resented instead and he possibly could grow resentful towards me too for being untouched. Now if I have Yin Chakra sealed into me, then I can be there to support Naruto through it, but I would have the same life be put on me.'
Minato comes to a decision.
"Okay, I have made my choice. I will have Kurama's Yin chakra sealed in me." Minato answers. Kurama is shocked he would do that and wonders why.
"Could you tell me why you chose that?" Asks Kami.
"Well, most likely I would be using the Shiki Fujin for the sealing method. Because of this, I don't believe that Naruto will handle the all of Kurama's Chakra." Reasoned Minato, "So that leaves with sealing in me or alternate Minato. Kushina had told me before the sealing Naruto would have a hard life. If alternate Minato has Yin chakra sealed in him, Naruto could resent me as a brother since I might not receive same treatment as him. However, with Kurama's Yin chakra in me, I could be there to support Naruto and share the burden with him."
"I accept your reasoning and you will have Kurama's Yin chakra sealed in you while Naruto has Yang chakra in him. Are there anymore questions?" Asks Kami, at this both Minato and Kurama shake their head no. "Okay, now it is time to send you both to the realm of the living."
Kami goes through a series of hand signs and mutters a jutsu. At this time she touches the forehead of both Minato and Kurama. Minato and Kurama slowly fall asleep, the last thing they remember is hearing Kami wish them luck and waving by to them.
