'Finnick...'

'Yeah, Katniss?'

'Distract me.'

Finnick nodded. Waiting for the mission to bring back captives from Capitol was terrible.

'Uh… my stylist made a major mistake at the tribute parade' he said.

'What, this net?'

'Yeah. Mags should have worn it, not me.'

Katniss burst into hysterical laughter, imagining Mags wearing a net.

'Sorry… it was rude. Why? It was all to show off your body…'

'No, no, no' Finnick shook head. 'Don't tell me you don't know the story of Smart Sammie!'

'Story of who?'

'Every kid knows it. It's, like, the most popular bedtime story…'

'…in District Four.'

'Right' Finnick chuckles. 'Okay, lie down and I'll tell you.'

Katniss lay down in bed and smiled. 'Okay, I'm listening' she chuckled. Finnick stroked her hair.

'Once upon a time, there was a fisherman, widower, who had a beautiful and smart daughter, Sammie. And everyone in the village was calling her Smart Sammie, and people were coming to her for advice… concerning nearly anything.'

'Oh wow' Katniss smirked.

'…but the Mayor didn't like that people were listening to Smart Sammie more than to him, so he decided to kill her. And he told her that he'd falsely accuse her of some crime, which would get her publicly shot, unless she came to him not by day and not by night, not dressed and not naked, not with a gift and not without a gift.'

'But it's impossible…' Katniss mumbled, already halfway asleep.

'…but Smart Sammie didn't give up' Finnick smiled, still tying his knots. 'For the whole day, she didn't appear anywhere near Mayor's house. And by twilight, people saw strangest thing ever: Smart Sammie, wrapped in a fishing net, holding a mockingjay. She knocked at the Mayor's door and as she was let in, she held out the bird and let go. The mockingjay flew away.'

'And what then?'

'Then the mayor, however reluctantly, agreed that Smart Sammie did exactly what he challenged her to. And to save his honor, he decided to marry her and as people were coming for advice, he'd ask his wife about any matter.'

'Oh. And what –' Katniss started to say, but she didn't finish as Haymitch came in.

'They're back. We're wanted in the hospital.'
