Summary: In 2014 Cas remembers being Castiel, and how it felt to fall from grace.
Cas remembers being Castiel, and how it felt to be falling, falling, always falling. It had happened so slowly, a grinding erosion of a drop, instead of a swooping plummet into mortality, and he'd never really understood why it took so long to reach the bottom.
But he's here now, looking into Dean's hard gaze and knowing his friend is sending them all to their deaths – and worse, that Dean doesn't care.
Cas still remembers how all the first times felt – when Dean took his hand and showed him how to use a toothbrush; a knife and fork; a gun.
