"Look what you did." she said, looking into her lovers face but speaking to the other person in the room.
Draco had not lowered his wand, he stared at the dead boy.
"You stupid bastard." there was no anger in her voice.
Draco took a step towards her but Hermione had already drawn her wand and now its tip dug into his chest.
"Don't." he said.
"Why not?" His eyes were blank but hers showed the sadness in her went far deeper than her tears.
In his entire lifetime, in all 18 years Malfoy had only felt two emotions. Two real emotions. The second occurred now. Both had been caused by the stupid bitch in front of him.
He grasped her arm, his fingers and nails bruising the skin and she gritted her teeth to stop herself gasping at the pain.
"Do you know how many fucking times I've saved your life?" he screamed at her, their faces close enough to touch.
Her expression did not change and she wasn't frightened.
"The Weasley's are dead you stupid fucking mudblood. Tonight we'll wipe out the last Potter. But the Grangers?" what looked like amusement but could be despair passed across his face, "Where are they now? They're at home sleeping like little babies in their beds,"
Hermione closed her eyes, the tears still escaping her eyelids and shook her head, saying words she found came out easier when she didn't look at him, "You're a lying git Malfoy. You didn't have the balls to kill Dumbledore when it came to it you wouldn't dare stand up to Him."
Desperation filled Malfoy's expression although she couldn't see, and bringing his face closer than before even, "You stupid bitch." he screamed, and kissed her.
It was a rough, passionate kiss filled with all the emotion Malfoy had ever allowed himself to feel. Fatal and stupid and only the voice of Harry Potter could pull him away from it.
"Hermione! Ron!"
Potterwas close.Draco's hands still held Hermione's face close to hisown as he willed her to help him, desperate that he'd persuaded her with the strength of what he took to be love.
She whispered something in his ear, something he didn't quite hear.
"Again, say again."
He became aware suddenly that the tip of her wand was once more embedded in his chest, so hard it hurt.
"Draco," she looked at him and her eyes were full of what could have been triumph, "Avada kedavra." it was so quiet, so barely audible he didn't even know what was happening, and his body tumbled over Ron's to hit the floor, with a satisfying thud.
