Set Me Free

This poem is a note that Murtagh writes to Eragon. Not my best poem, but I guess I will put it up anyway.
I've done it now,
that thing I promised never to do
I've given him my soul
so he threatens to tear it in two
I don't know what to do
I cannot break these vows
these oaths that bind me to a monster
who knows how to pull the strings
I am like a puppet
He controls my every move
if he wanted me to die
I would simply agree
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad
to simply disappear
it couldn't be much worse
then being tied to him
but I have to live to see
this man that I despise
have his soul torn apart
then he might know my pain
then I can be free once more
but as for you my brother
you must leave me behind
and forget you ever knew me
because truthfully I'm gone
Please keep me close
for I am your enemy now
and neither you or I can change that
so goodbye to you my brother
I have to disappear
become a part of that man
we both have come to fear
