Finally, my all books are together. One, three, two, five, and six – I insert the code in the vending machine. The vending whirs open, gasping for air it seems. I enter the clandestine tunnels, looking behind before I close the entrance. I don't need anyone seeing me, especially the kids. My lantern in hand, I walk down the small-enclosed stairway, singular light bulb above me. The walls are cracking, paint peeling away as if it were trying to escape. The wooden paneling is bare and exposed.

I reach the elevator room. Metal pipes and wooden support beams coarse throughout the room, at the end there's a stone brick wall. Metal door with a gauge above it stand vigilant in the dark area. I walk up to a steel box beside it, dented and rusted from years gone by. Cobwebs surround it; I flip open its unlocked panel. Two, five, seven, and five – Access Granted. Down, I press.

The old bronze doors open to the cage elevator, I enter and as soon as I do the doors close behind me. The inside gauge goes from one to two to the final floor, three.

The elevator doors open revealing the pitch-black area with glowing lights and buttons, technological beeps and whirring. I hold my lantern; it's light guiding me in the darkness that I've almost become accustom to. I slide into my rolling chair as roll to the control panel, that I've made my desk. I part the small draw, taking out Journal One.

"After all these years…"

I begin setting the journals into place. "Finally, we have them all," I say to myself. Almost astonished that I can complete it. I open the journals in order, piecing together the diagram. I begin to activate the machine. Dim, cyan lights begin to appear in the charcoal-black chamber. Before the whole machine lights up!

"It's working!"

I push my chair to the floor as I haphazardly rush into the chamber. I reach the giant lever in the center, pushing it with all my strength. Symbols glow an unearthly hue of blue as lightning and plasma flashes across the room before it's stabilizes into solid beams. The beams disappeared as dark was shattered by the brilliant light emitting from the portal!

"Here we go." I smile, seeing the portal complete.
