It was just another day and Jace and Alec were out to buy max a birthday present. Max had always wanted to play in a band so for his birthday Jace, Izzy, and Alec were getting him a flute. Alec was talking to the man up front ready to buy the flute while jace was putting it together and pretending it was a sword. That's when Alec noticed he was talking to no man. "DEMONS!" jace turned suddenly alert when the supposed clerk started to attack. Jace and Alec had left there weapons at home thinking they wouldn't need them so Jace used the closest thing to him as a weapon, a flute. Alec was weaponles so he had to sit this one out. Jace used the flute and beat the. Leeks face in. He paused and muttered " shit. Dented the flute. Can't buy this one. " Alec started to chuckle at that. Jace continued to beat the thing senseless with his flute. Apparently, Jace could make anything into a weapon. The demon lay on the ground bloody and injured. Jace stabbed the flute into his chest and watched him disappear into nothingness. The demon had returned to his home planet. Jace laughed as he looked down at the dented and bloody marked flute. Alec laughed too. They looked around some more and got another flute for max. They put the money in the cash register anyways in case someone else worked here. Might as well pay for something you broke but since they killed the demo they decided that was enough pay for the flute. Alec and Jace couldn't stop laughing as they walked home. The moment they walked in izzy was on them to know what took them so long. Jace went ahead and told her the story but izzy's response was " damn... A flute?! Poor flute" jace and Alec laughed. Just then max walked in to hear the joke. They all became silent. Max's birthday party was later but Jace decided they should give him the present now. " here you go little buddy" jace said handing the flute to max. His eyes lit up and he cried out in joy. He hugged them all thanking them a billion times. All through the night the smile never left his face. He had never looked happier.
