I had the sudden impulse to writ a KaToki fic. I don't know if that's the right combo of letters but whatever... you get the picture..
Kazuki was standing outside the flower shop staring at the sign and started debating about what he should do. He eventually decided to go inside and walked up to the counter and asked for help.
"It's Tokiko's birthday, and I want to give her something special."
"Well, what do you want to say to her?" The female clerk asked resting her chin in her hands.
"Well, I don't know. There's so much I want to tell her." He scratched ther back of his neck nervously. "I want her to know what I think of her."
The woman opened the huge case filled with flowers. "I've got you covered, just give me her traits and I'll pick out the flowers for you."
"Mmm...let's see...she's...bold"
The woman pulled out a Delphinium and placed it in a vase.
"She gives me joy."
She pulls out a Gardenia.
"She's comforting..."
Geranium.
"...and truthful"
A white carnation.
He chuckled to himself as he thought about his friend, "And she's got quite the character. She' really spirited too..."
Gladiolus
Freesia
"She's sincere."
Hyacinth
"She's graceful and elegant, and she has a beautiful spirit..."
Jasmine
Larkspur
"And she's faithful and steadfast."
As the woman pulled out the violets and Wisteria, she suddenly looked back at him and smiled. She picked up all the flowers he had chosen and picked out several new ones.
She gave him a bunch of yellow and pink tulips.
He looked at them. "I think these will be perfect..." He said as he ran out the door after paying. He smiled down at them and held them closer to his chest. He approached a group of girls. Said group was his sister, Mahiro and her two friends. As he walked past, his sister caught a glimpse of the flowers in her brother's hand.
"OMG, Kazuki, are those for Tokiko!?"
"Yeah, it's her birthday today."
She hugged him around the neck till his face turned blue, "I KNEW you had a thing for her! I could tell by the flowers!"
"...cough...Ma—hi—r-o...cough..."
"Oh, sorry!" She giggled and sent her brother on his way.
"But what did you mean, you could tell by the flowers?"
She shooed him off and walked the other way. As he continued the walk home, he would constantly see girls blush at the sight of his flowers and submerse in a series of giggles and cooing.
'What the hell did that lady give me?' He wondered as he knocked on the door of Tokiko's room. He heard her answer and hid the flowers behind his back. She opened the door and found herself with a face full of flowers. She blushed and accepted them nervously.
"I wanted to give you flowers based on what I thought of you." He smiled innocently, "But the lady switched out all my others with theses and she didn't tell me what they meant."
"Oh...You can look them up on my computer." Tokiko offered.
"Sweet! Thanks Tokiko." He typed in the search and looked for a promising link. This is what he found for tulips:
Tulip:
• Pink – Caring
'Yup, I do care about her.' Kazuki thought.
• Purple – Royalty
'Didn't get her that one...'
• Red – Declaration of Love
He blushed
• White – Forgiveness
'Okay...and where's yellow..yellow...AH here it is! Yellow...' He read over it several times before exiting the sight
He looked down at his hands; then he looked up at Tokiko and smiled.
"I guess I didn't need all those different flowers. These tulips said it all."
He stood up and embraced Tokiko.
"What did they say?"
"That I'm hopelessly in love with you, Tokiko."
