"Here, Prince Soma," Lizzie said as she handed him a large hatbox. "I think you'd look cute in it"
"Thank you, Miss Elizabeth." Soma opened it and looked inside. He blinked at the large expanse of feathers, lace and red velvet. "What is it?"
"Silly! That's my late Aunty Anne's favorite hat. I think it matches your vest perfectly," Lizzie said, and taking the hat out of the box, she put it on Soma's head and giggled.
"I look foolish, don't I?" he chuckled.
When don't you look foolish? Ciel thought as he closed his book.
Lizzie, unable to stop giggling, nodded.
"Well, then, if it'll make my darling 'little sister' happy, I shall play the fool for her."
Lizzie, clasping her hands together, said, "See, Ciel, Prince Soma isn't afraid to be silly and you shouldn't be too."
Ciel rolled his eyes.
"You would be a lot happier, my little friend, if you did," Soma added.
"Fine, I'll wear the silly hat," Ciel said.
"It's not a silly hat, Ciel," Lizzie replied as she plunked a tall conical-shaped bit of pink organza on his head. "That's my special fairy princess hat."
"And a fine fairy princess you are too," Soma added, and catching Lizzie's eye, they laughed.
Ciel, who was not amused, said, "Please, Lizzie, let's hurry this foolishness up, I have work to do. I have to prepare for a meeting I have tomorrow."
"But, Ciel…"
"Ciel, that's why Miss Elizabeth decided to have this fancy tea party; you're turning into an old man at fifteen. You need some fun in your life," Soma gently chided.
"Now there's the height of foolishness, me taking advice from you."
"You'd be foolish not to," Soma said.
"Please, Ciel…" Lizzie pleaded.
"Okay…" he grumbled.
"Good! Now let's go have some fun!"
