Rose-Tinted

"Kira."

"Hmmm...? What is it?" he asked distractedly, eyes not leaving the television screen.

"What is this thing?"

"What thing?"

An exasperated sigh. "The thing I'm holding."

"I-" Kira chuckled, a laugh elicited by the comedy he was watching. "-don't know what you're talking about."

Shinn frowned and closed the television, blatantly ignoring Kira's protests; he shoved the object into his significant other's view. "This thing."

Kira smiled innocently, "A pair of glasses."

"And why was I wearing them when I woke up?"

"You need them."

"No I don't," Shinn glared at the offending glasses and slumped down next to his Kira on the couch.

"Yes Shinn, you do." He relaxed against the pillow with an air of amusement.

Shinn tossed the glasses onto the other's lap, "No I don't especially-especially in PINK."

"Don't you think you look lovely in pink?" Kira gently held the rose-tinted glasses and held it up into the light.

"No." He pouted, "And I don't need glasses. Coordinators have perfect vision!"

"Well this coordinator here," The brunet pointedly glanced at Shinn and handed him back the glasses, "needs glasses."

Fumbling, Shinn spoke hotly, "This is embarrassing. Can't I just get contacts instead?"

"You look wonderful with glasses; you have a new air of sophistication with them on."

"But in pink!" He paused and continued, red-eyes gazing at the other suspiciously. "Why pink?"

A lopsided grin crept onto his face. "I'll tell you why."

"Well then?"

There was a misty emotion that clouded the violet eyes. "The pink reminded me of you Shinn - you and the color of your blush. The rose-tinted blush." Smiling, Kira pressed his hand against Shinn's, taking the glasses he was holding and placed it on the ridge of Shinn's nose.

"Ahh…" Shinn blushed brightly, looking away, "You're crazy."

"I suppose I am," agreed Kira mildly.

"You're not supposed to agree, idiot," muttered Shinn softly.

The brunet shrugged and swung an arm around his shoulders embracing the smaller boy; with affection, he rested his head on top of his. "…"

"Kira?" Shinn tilted his head up and peered at the older man above the rim of his glasses.

"Hmm?" He looked down; their lips were close but not touching. "What is it?"

"I-well," His cheeks were flushed again. His voice barely above a whisper, he murmured, "I appreciate it. You know that right?"

He felt the easy rising and falling of Kira's chest when he responded, "I know."

Their eyes made contact and with an invisible agreement, one bent their head down and the other one, upwards. But, before they had a chance to meet…

Kira smiled teasingly, drawing away at the last moment, "Mmm…I don't think I should kiss you. I might fog up your glasses."

"Hey!-" But whatever Shinn was about to say never came out of his mouth. Instead, his frown melted into a smile, the blush fading when he felt a soft kiss on his forehead.

End

Felt like writing about Shinn. I really have to get around reading stories again, let alone review. Woe. –waves banners of support? (I totally hope you know who you are, people!)-

Thank you for your valuable time readers.

Constructive criticism is definitely welcomed.
