Marie held the man that meant more to her than anything in the world in her arms.
There's a hero if you look inside your heart.
He'd made her feel safe, normal, he made her feel loved.
You don't have to be afraid of what you are.
Why he did it she didn't know.
There's an answer if you reach into your soul
But if she had to guess she had a good enough idea.
and the sorrow that you know will melt away.
He saved her life.
And then a hero comes along
It was by such a chance that they had met, would she still be alive if they hadn't?
with the strength to carry on
He never worried about her skin, and she often caught herself forgetting about it as well.
and you cast your fears aside
He gave her the courage and security to carry on when all she wanted to do was give up.
and you know you can survive.
There was a time when she wished she didn't exist.
So, when you feel like hope is gone
She used to wish she didn't exist because she never wanted to be used by another person again.

But she didn't have to worry about that now.

Because he was there and he helped her realize she didn't have to.

She didn't have to be strong anymore.
It's a long road when you face the world alone,
She didn't have to save others alone.

She was able to face the world alone if she had to now because he had shown her.
You can find love if you search within yourself
He had shown her love.
and the emptiness you felt will disappear.
Love was something more than she had ever even dared to hope for.
And then a hero comes along
His passion and pride moved her more deeply than anything anyone had ever done to her.
with the strength to carry on
They washed away the pain and hurt.
and you cast your fears aside
They made her whole again.
and you know you can survive.
So when she was down and out, his memory brought her back.
So, when you feel like hope is gone
His love and life flowed through her like a river.

Cleansing her and refreshing her spirit.

He remained inside her head as much as her heart.

So she stayed strong.
Lord knows dreams are hard to follow,
She survived though it tore her apart.

His formed slumped on top of liberty statue.

Ironic since the statue represented freedom and now he was free. Free of his own nightmares and doubts.

She huddled over his form her own tears falling onto his face. He'd given his life for hers.

She be damned if it was wasted.
and you know you can survive.
She held him in her arms and kissed his forehead.
So, when you feel like hope is gone
He wasn't going to come back, but he would live on. He'd live on in her.

She made a vow on that statue that night.

She vowed to love,
