Author's Note: Hi, everybody! This is my first fan fiction ever, so I'm really excited. I was partly inspired by some of the commentary cut scenes in Jak 3 where they explained some of their other ideas for this scene. Anyway, I hope you like it! Please review and tell me what you think!
Disclaimer: I do not own Jak and Daxter.
Her Idiots
Jak barely had time to slip his goggles up on his head before Keira pulled him into an embrace.
Jak stood there dumbly, unsure of how to respond. His ears started to feel hot as the blood rushed to his face. After a moment, Daxter smacked his head, giving him a silent expression that said, C'mon! Get it together and hug her back, Jak! Jak shifted his gaze back to Keira and awkwardly put his arms around her. After a moment, he felt himself relax into her embrace. He rested his head against hers, feeling her soft, teal hair tickle his cheek as he breathed in the familiar scent of motor oil and metal.
Keira turned her head slightly so that her large, green eyes peeked up at him with a cocked eyebrow. "You did it, hero." Even though her voice had a slightly teasing tone to it, for once, when someone referred to him as 'hero,' it sounded sincere.
"Hey!" Daxter shouted. "What about- omph!"
Keira threw her arm up around Jak's shoulder and pulled Daxter into the embrace. "You too, 'Orange Lightning.' I'm glad that both of you are alright."
For a moment, they stayed in that group embrace. But suddenly, Keira pulled away before grabbing the sides of their heads and knocking them together. The boys let out a yelp of surprise.
"What was that for, ya crazy broad?!" Daxter cried, indignantly rubbing his temple as he hopped down from Jak's shoulder.
Keira rested a hand on her hip, an angered expression masking the concern and relief she had shown moments before. "My idiots," she sighed.
"What happened to 'my hero?'" Daxter mumbled. He exchanged a glance with Jak, who just shrugged and offered him a small smile in return.
Jak lifted his hand to pull the scarf down from his face, but Keira beat him to it. She lifted up on tip-toe and slipped the scarf away from his mouth. Jak tipped his head down slightly, his eyelids falling. She leaned forward in response, letting her own eyes close, when Jak suddenly yelled. Her eyes flashed open to see Daxter perched on Jak's head with his paws covering Jak's eyes.
Keira sighed as the two of them went at it.
