Reyna thought she must be going nuts. Leo Valdez had asked her to accompany him on a walk around the camp and for some crazy reason, she said yes. She didn't even allow herself sufficient time to think this through and now she was starting a process she likes to call "over-thinking a situation that should require minimal thinking."

She wished she's pressed him for more details-what stops might we make? What are we going to do when we're done walking? Are we going to eat anything? These are the questions she wished she has answers to, but instead of answers, she had approximately an hour until Leo Valdez said he'd pick her up. Of course she was ready by then since she was punctual by nature. At first she didn't know what to wear, but after what seemed like hours, she settled on a simple conclusion: fussing over what to wear is such a frivolous thing to do.

She decided to go casual. A pair of dark blue skinny jeans, white, well-worn converses, and a purple camp Jupiter tee will just have to work. Typically, she has her hair pulled to the side in its usual braid, a few pins secured in her dark locks to keep the flyaways in place.

While she awaited Leo's arrival, she sat on the comfy couch in her small-ish living room, munching on jellybeans. She was particularly fond of the Green apple flavor, so she kept digging through the bowl of jellybeans she kept on her coffee table in search of the light green ones.

It was 8:01 pm, a minute past the time Leo said he'd stop by to pick her up. It may seem silly, but a minute was enough time to send her thoughts spiraling out of control.

8:03. She got up and started pacing.

8:10. And queue the over-thinking.

She might've been over-reacting, but she couldn't help the dramatic sigh that managed to escape her.

8:30. She was starting to lose hope, and by the time 9 pm rolled around, she became convinced he wasn't going to show up.

She walked into her bathroom to start unbraiding her hair and to get undressed. She looked in the mirror and grimaced at her reflection. It's not that she didn't like what she saw, its just that, how could she have allowed herself to get her hopes up so high? It was suicide. She mentally slapped herself. she grabbed the end of her braid and started undoing it. She, of all people, should've known better. Of course he's abandon her, no one said he'd be any different from the others. she pulled the pins, allowing her long, black curls to fall free like an obsidian waterfall around her shoulders and down to the small of her back.

The harsh knock on her door startled her. While she may have been angry at him for not showing up, she just couldn't control the small spark of hope that had ignited itself in the pit of her stomach that hey, maybe he'd shown up after all.

She opened the door and sure enough, Leo Valdez stood there looking a little sheepish and a lot guilty.

He opened his mouth before she could. She expected an excuse, and that's exactly what she got.

"Now, before you yell at me, I'd like to say that I was very distracted by the gardens of bacchus and I accidentally fell asleep under a tree. So, when in Rome…"

She snorted in and awkward laughing way and he took it as a sign to keep talking.

"Hey, You left your hair down! You're so pretty."

The both blushed at his sudden confession, but they've both got a dark enough complexion that it was barely noticeable on either of them.

To break the awkward silence that settled upon them, Leo spoke up.

"So are you coming?" He questioned. Reyna replied with a simple 'yes', and they left that small villa in which she lived.

She allowed herself to have a good time. So, when in Rome...

So I realize this isn't my best but I didn't want to just write nothing so here, take it.
