For those who are reading this, you're probably a bit confused since I just made a new story which was a remake of this one. That was not my original plan but I got my cousin who was staying over to publish the remake for me and he instead made a new story for it. So, it's getting deleted and will now be replacing this story. HOPE YOU'LL ALL ENJOY IT, READ IT AND REVIEW/FAVOURITE/FOLLOW IT!

I've decided to leave the Final Countdown and start from scratch although some similar plot points will be used. The first few chapters will include these, but after that there will be a major change to the story from that. This story will hopefully be a vast improvement from the original, which I've discontinued, but most of chapter 7 will probably be salvaged for this story with only small differences since it was a fairly good chapter in my perspective. Also, the card effects will be the same as they were in the manga simply because it can actually follow up from it in a way. I've also been using the English names because I've become more used to them. Hope you won't mind that much. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the first chapter and PLEASE READ AND REVIEW! Because I basically run on reviews and love when I get them! They really motivate me more!

The Final Countdown

An alternate telling of the manga from rank 34. With Earth and the Astral World on the brink of destruction, Yuma, Kite and Shark team up to stop Kyoji Yagumo and Dr. Faker from fulfilling their evil plans while also stopping the mysterious evil that appears to be pulling the strings!

WARNING: Because this is a retelling of the manga, it is somewhat required that you have read the manga to actually know what;s going on. However, I still encourage you to read this story, which is why I have written a summary of what has happened in the manga so far.

Previously: Heartland city, a beautiful and peaceful place for all those who duel. Or it was. Meet Yuma Tsukumo, a young energetic duelist wishing to be Duel Champion. When Yuma faces off against Heartland Academies' Number #1 bad boy Reginald "Shark" Kastle, everything changes. During the duel, Yuma's broken key repairs itself and unleashes the Numbers and the being Astral into Earth. With Astral's help Yuma defeats Shark. Now Yuma must help Astral regain the Numbers, pieces of his memories to discover the reason he was sent there. They must also stop the malicious Dr. Faker from using the Numbers to destroy the Astral World which in turn would destroy Earth as well.

Yuma however is quickly targeted by a Numbers Hunter named Kite Tenjo, seeking the Numbers to cure his younger brother Hart under the orders of Dr. Faker and Mr. Heartland. Kite quickly overpowers Yuma with his ace Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon but cancels the duel when Hart falls ill.

Yuma's friends cheer him up over his defeat against Kite and they form the Numbers Club and head to Heartland to investigate. Yuma faces off against three dueling assassins and defeats them, gaining three new Numbers in the process. The last assassin, Princess Cologne, is rescued from her burning house by Yuma after the duel ends and she decides to go live with Yuma as his friend.

Meanwhile, Shark is confronted by a mysterious duelist named Luna, who gives him his own Number to help her eradicate the Numbers while Mr. Heartland hires Kyoji Yagumo to help him seize the Numbers. Shark and Kyoji were once friends at an orphanage they lived in but had a falling out when Shark took the fall for Kyoji when he stole a duelist's deck. For unknown reasons, Kyoji falls from grace and turns evil and wants to destroy the Astral World.

Kyoji sends the assassin Eviluder to take Yuma's Numbers. Eviluder injures Bronk causing Yuma to seek out the assassin in revenge, using a card give to him by Bronk to overcome Eviluder's strategy and win the duel. Kyoji introduces himself afterwards and declares the beginning of the Numbers War.

Kite, fearing for Hart's safety flee Heartland with him but is stopped by Kyoji and his next assassin Hishakaku, who is obsessed with Shogi and even uses a deck based around the game. With his Line Monster deck, Hishakaku puts Kite in a corner but Kite comes back and wins with the effect of Graveyard Rebound. After the duel however, Kyoji kidnaps Hart and leaves Kite for dead when the duel field he was on explodes. Yuma risks his own life to save Kite, gaining some of Kite's respect in the process.

Kyoji next sends Shadow to deal with his enemies and he purposely loses his duels against Shark and Kite before leaving them each a Number. Kite and Shark then face off, but the Numbers given to them by Shadow activate and places them in a knockout battle where they cannot do anything but attack and will both lose and virtually die. Yuma arrives however and duels Shadow, giving up his own life points so that Kite and Shark can last longer. Shadow corners Yuma, but his bonds with Kite and Shark allow him to perform a Shining XYZ Evolution and evolve Utopia into Utopia Prime and win the duel.

At this point in time, Kyoji confronts Mr. Heartland and explains he was just using him and Faker. Kyoji also reveals that he knows that Heartland is a conman and that he used Faker to gain wealth. Faker was in fact attacking the Astral World in hopes of curing Hart, whose soul had become lost in that world. Faker himself eventually succumbed to his own illness and died. Heartland declares he will kill Kyoji since he knows too much but Kyoji defeats him with his Number card: Frozen Lady Justice. Kyoji then reveals he will destroy the Astral World on his own terms and does not care about the existence of earth, claiming thee is no point of its continuance.

Yuma, Kite and Shark team up to stop both Faker and Kyoji. But numerous obstacles and enemies stand on there way. Plus a mysterious evil that's pulling the strings of everything that's happening. An enemy determined to win no matter what!

Rank 1: Edge of Darkness! The War Begins!

In the tower of Heartland was a dark room filled with dozens of TV screens all showing numerous parts of Heartland city. Sitting in a black chair facing all the monitors was Dr. Faker.

Faker watched two certain screens in front of him intently. The first was showing the duel between Mr. Heartland and Kyoji Yagumo. Through this, he had discovered that Heartland was actually a con man who had been tricking Faker all along and Kyoji had also intended to betray him as well.

The second screen showed Yuma defeating Shadow in a duel via performing a shining XYZ evolution and summoning Shining Number 39 Utopia Prime. By doing so, Yuma also saved Kite and Shark from certain death from the twin Numbers given to them by Shadow.

"Fools," chuckled Faker. "They will all pay for defying me. Kyoji thinks I'm dead. They all do. But they don't realize that I made a deal with the devil to live so as to complete my plan and destroy the Astral World."

Faker stood up and walked into the next room. "I will do anything to save Hart even destroy the world in the process."

This new room was full of numerous gadgets and devises; the main being a generator that was creating dark sparks of electricity.

Faker smirked at the machine. "With this, I will eradicate the Astral World and save my son! But first, I need to by myself some time!"

Faker moved over to a control panel and hit some of the buttons on it. "Release the Numbers Squad! Mwahahahahahahaha!"

Kite touched the spider web surrounding the duel field where the remains of Mr. Heartland's cards lay scattered. He had already searched them; there was no sign of his Numbers cards or of the mayor of Heartland.

Reginald Kastle, better known as Shark bent down and picked up one of the scattered cards. He examined it before dropping it and standing up.

"This was definitely Kyoji's doing," growled Shark. "But why would he turn on his own boss."

"Looks like Kyoji has gone treason," answered Kite as he stood with Orbital 7.

"But what does he hope to gain from this?" asked Yuma as Astral floated next to him.

"It appears that Kyoji was simply using Heartland and Faker as a means of gaining Numbers for himself," said Astral.

"This is hopeless!" snapped Kite as he grabbed one of the spider webs Kyoji left behind and ripped it away from the post it was hanging from.

"Calm down Kite," responded Shark.

"No!" retorted Kite. "That whack job still has Hart! And this isn't getting us any closer to him!"

"Look Kite!" interrupted Yuma. "We're trying our best! But there isn't much we can do right now! So you're just going to have to be patient!"

Kite growled. "Maybe I should go find Yagumo by myself."

"No!" butted in Shark. "If we want to have any chance of finding Kyoji and stopping Faker both at the same time then we need to stick together! Not go solo!"

"Oh," spat Kite. "Just because you think you have a fancy Number card you think you can take charge!"

"Yes I do!" Shark retorted. "Besides, your not much of a leader! All you do is take people's souls!"

"I do that for my brother!" roared Kite. "So why don't you go and take orders from Luna!"

Shark stepped forward but Yuma stepped in-between him and Kite.

"Stop," begged Yuma. "We can't be fighting."

Shark and Kite backed off but turned away from each other.

Yuma sighed with annoyance. "Where is Luna anyway?"

Shark reached for his duel gazer and activated it, but there was no answer.

"I don't know," replied Shark, worried. "I've been trying to contact her even since she vanished after you defeated Shadow and saved me and Kite. But I'm not getting an answer."

I hope she's okay," commented Tori worryingly as she entered the conversation.

"Yuma," said Astral. "You don't think it's possible that something happened to her while we were dueling? We were so preoccupied trying to defeat Shadow and Kite and Shark were a bit tied up as well. None of us would have noticed if Kyoji or Faker snatched her up."

"That makes a lot of sense actually," replied Yuma. "That just makes it more important to stop both of them."

"Wow," said a voice from above. "I'm becoming famous."

The group looked up to see Kyoji standing on top of one of the last good spider webs with a big smirk plastered on his face.

"Kyoji!" growled Kite and Shark simultaneously.

"What have you done with Luna?" asked Yuma.

"Luna?" questioned Kyoji. "Oh, you mean that pretty girl that Reginald follows around. I don't know? She must have abandoned all of you."

"Knock it off!" snapped Yuma.

"Oh please," Kyoji chuckled. "I can't be held responsible for everything can I? Look, I don't know what happened to her, but I do know what happened to Heartland and Hart."

"Where is Hart?" demanded Kite.

"Somewhere safe and away from you," responded Kyoji.

"Why you…" threatened Kite.

"No!" interrupted Shark as he threw his arm out in front of Kite to block him. "Yagumo's mine!"

"You're too eager to lose Reginald," replied Kyoji.

"I'll be the one dueling him!" cried Kite, ignoring both Shark and Kyoji as he launched his duel anchor towards the Numbers Hunter standing on the webs.

"Cheap parlor tricks," chuckled Kyoji as he reached out and caught the red duel anchor as it shot towards him.

Kite gasped. "What?"

Kyoji grinned evilly and his hand radiated with electricity which shot through the anchor and shocked Kite.

"Master Kite!" panicked Orbital as Kite fell back with a groan.

"You will pay dearly for everything you've done to hurt me and my family!" cursed Kite as he stood up.

"Well then," chuckled Kyoji as he threw an envelope onto the ground in front of them. "Whichever one of you wished to face me, come meet me at that address. I'll be waiting to take your Numbers. And I'll enjoy every second of it like I did against Heartland." Kyoji held up two Numbers cards, the ones he won from Heartland. Number 82 and Number 52.

"What are you planning!" demanded Yuma.

"The destruction of the world." Yagumo's eyes widened with his words. "And Hart is a key piece of that plan."

"But why?" questioned Shark and Tori.

"You'll find out soon enough," chuckled Kyoji. "But for now, I'll keep Hart."

"You filthy rat!" roared Kite.

"Come," taunted Kyoji. "If you dare." Kyoji then smirked as spider like wings grew from his back and he flew off into the distance.

Yuma bent down and picked up the envelope Kyoji threw to them. He opened it up and read the note inside out loud.

"44 Leonard's Street."

"That's the place where the National Duel Circuit used to run from," explained Shark. "The same place I took the fall for Kyoji."

"It's obvious he wants Shark to go," stated Astral. "Otherwise he would make it obvious he wants to face Kite."

"You going Shark?" asked Yuma.

Shark turned to face Kite. "Kyoji's my problem more than anyone else's. It's my fault he ended up like this. If I had just stuck with him even though I got banned from the Duel Circuit, then I could of stopped him from becoming this."

Kite didn't reply.

"Look Kite," continued Shark. "I know we don't see eye to eye, but you must let me fight him! I will fight to save Hart as well! I promise you I will make sure he comes home safe!"

Kite thought for a minute. "Fine."

"Then I'll head out now to find Kyoji," stated Shark as he walked over to his bike and put his helmet on.

"And we'll head to Heartland," added Yuma as he glanced over to Kite.

"Fine," said Kite.

"I'll meet with you guys there once I'm done with Kyoji." Shark nodded as he rode off into the distance.

"Let's get going," suggested Yuma.

"No one's going anywhere," interrupted a voice.

"Who's there!" demanded Kite.

"It is us!" cried two voices as two figures appeared from the shadows. Each wore a standard silver duel disk on their arms. Both wore similar clothes but different colours. The first wore a blue shirt with black pants while the second wore a red shirt and black pants as well. They both had green eyes and short brown hair that spiked up at the front. On their shoulders were golden shoulder pads.

"The Ripper Twins," growled Kite as he identified them. "Faker's trained dueling tag team."

"My name is Ken," spat the twin on the right.

"And I am Ben," added the twin on the left. "And I'm afraid we can't let you pass. We must have your Numbers."

"More of Faker's dueling assassins," stated Astral.

"No way you're getting your hands on our Numbers!" cried Yuma.

"I'm afraid we'll have to insist," snickered the twins as they both released duel anchors, which wrapped themselves around Kite and Yuma's wrists before vanishing.

"Bring it on!" roared Kite as Orbital 7 launched his duel disk and he caught it before strapping it on. "I'll hunt your souls along with your Numbers!"

"We'll see about that!" answered the twins as they activated their disks and their duel gazer tattoos appeared around their eyes. A blue one for Ben and a red one for Ken.

"I'm gonna jet!" cried Yuma as he activated his disk.

"Photon Transformation!" added Kite as he glowed white and his clothed changed to that colour. A blue duel gazer tattoo appeared around his left eye and it glowed red.

"Be careful Yuma," muttered Tori to herself as thunder flashed in the sky and it began to rain. The four duelists drew their cards and began the match.

"Duel!"

Yuma Tsukumo 4000 & Kite Tenjo 4000 VS Ben Ripper 4000 & Ken Ripper 4000

Turn 1: Ben

"I take the lead!" declared Ben as he drew. "I summon Zone Double in attack mode!"

Zone Double: Attack 1200

A blue energy ball with an eye in the middle appeared.

"Now due to his effect!" explained Ben. "I can summon another monster from my hand that's also level 4!"

Yuma, Kite and Astral gasped in response.

"I summon Zone Beetle!" chuckled Ben as he slapped the card onto his disk.

Zone Beetle: Attack 1500

A blue beetle composed of energy appeared.

"XYZ summon," gasped Astral.

"I overlay my two level 4 monsters to build the overlay network!" cried Ben as his monsters overlaid. "I XYZ summon Zone Guardian!"

Zone Guardian: Attack 2000

A blue knight once again composed of energy appeared. This monster held a spear in one hand and a shield in the other.

"Now I set a card and end my turn!" chuckled Ben. "You next Yuma."

Turn 2: Yuma

"Get set to get decked!" cried Yuma as he drew.

"Yuma," advised Astral. "You need to follow up his move with our own XYZ monster."

"Right," Yuma nodded. "I summon Zubaba Knight!"

Zubaba Knight: Attack 1600

A knight wielding two swords appeared while yelling "ZUBABA KNIGHT!"

"Now that I've summoned a level 3 monster I can special summon Kagemucha Knight from my deck!" continued Yuma.

Kagemucha Knight: Attack 0

A brown dust like knight appeared beside Zubaba.

"Now I overlay my two level 3 monsters to build the overlay network!" declared Yuma. "I XYZ summon Number 17 Leviathan Dragon!"

Number 17 Leviathan Dragon: Attack 2000

A blue serpentine dragon appeared from the colourful overlay network and roared.

"Now use his ability!" stated Astral.

"Right!" replied Yuma. "I detach one overlay unit from Number 17 and he gains 500 attack!"

Number 17 Leviathan Dragon: Attack 2000-2500

"Now I set a card and end my turn!" concluded Yuma.

Turn 3: Ken

"Looks like I'm up!" chuckled Ken as he drew. "And I'm special summoning Data Accelerator to the field!"

Data Accelerator: Attack 1500

A red skater monster composed of numbers wearing a helmet and skates appeared.

"I can summon him when I have no monsters on my field," explained Ken. "And now I normal summon a second copy of him from my hand!"

Data Accelerator: Attack 1500

"Watch as I overlay my two monsters to XYZ summon!" cried Ken. "Data Guardian!"

Data Guardian: Attack 2000

A monster that looked exactly like Ben's Zone Guardian appeared, however it was composed of red data.

"They both have an XYZ monster now," said Astral, worryingly.

"Not good," added Yuma.

"I shall set a card and end my turn," finished Ken. "Your move Kite."

Turn 4: Kite

"Prepare to lose!" exclaimed Kite as he drew. "And first off I'm playing the ritual spell Luminous Dragon Ritual! By discarding Photon Thrasher from my hand I can ritual summon Paladin of Photon Dragon!"

Paladin of Photon Dragon: Attack 1900

A white knight riding a smaller version of the powerful Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon appeared.

"And now I'm going to…"

"Hold it right there!" interrupted Ken. "I play the trap Effect Down! This stops the effect of that monster activating this turn!"

Kite growled. "I set a card and end my turn!"

Turn 5: Ben

"Time for my turn!" grinned Ben as he drew. "And I activate the effect of Zone Guardian! I detach an overlay unit and declare a type card in any other player's hand! If I pick right a card on the field is destroyed! Otherwise my monster is destroyed!"

"What!" gasped Kite.

Ben snickered as he looked at his twin. "I think the furthest card on your left is a spell."

"You guessed right brother," laughed Ken as he revealed the card to be Pot of Greed.

"This isn't good," muttered Astral.

"Now say goodbye to Leviathan Dragon Yuma!" called out Ben as Yuma's dragon exploded.

"Crud!" cursed Yuma.

"I now summon Zone Blader in attack mode!" continued Ben as a blue energy knight wielding a sword appeared.

Zone Blader: Attack 1600

"His effect allows every player to draw a card," explained Ben a he drew and the other players did as well. "Now! Zone Blader attack directly!"

Ben's knight shot forward with its sword held high and aimed for Yuma.

"I activate a trap card!" interrupted Yuma. "Damage Diet to halve all damage I take this turn!"

Yuma screamed as Zone Blader slashed him with its blade, sending him flying back.

Yuma: 4000-3200

"Yuma!" cried Kite as Yuma was then struck by Zone Guardian.

Yuma: 3200-2200

"I end with a face down!" laughed Ben. "Now take your turn Yuma!"

Turn 6: Yuma

"Yuma are you okay?" asked Astral worryingly as Yuma slowly got up.

"I'm fine," answered Yuma. "But that's not what I can say for Ben and Ken when I'm done with this duel!"

"Oh," mocked Ken. "I'm so scared. I'm shaking in my boots."

"You should be," Yuma replied. "Because I'm gonna jet!" Yuma swiftly drew a card from his deck and added it to his hand. "Watch this! I summon Ganbara Knight in attack mode!"

Ganbara Knight: Attack 0

A knight holding two shields appeared.

Yuma continued, "Now because I've summoned a level 4 monster I can special summon Kagetokage to the field!"

Kagetokage: Attack 1100

A black shadow like lizard appeared on the field.

"Now I'm overlaying them to build the overlay network!" roared Yuma, causing Ben and Ken to growl. "I XYZ summon Number 50! Blackship of Corn!"

Number 50 Blackship of Corn: Attack 2000

A pirate ship with the hull composed of black corn and the mast bearing the number 50 appeared on the field behind Yuma.

"Now I activate Blackship of Corn's effect!" declared Yuma. "By detaching an overlay unit, it can destroy a monster on the field and inflict damage to the owner equal to its attack! I choose Zone Guardian!"

Zone Guardian was sucked up and entered a cannon on the side of Blackship. The cannon then took aim and fired at Ben.

"I activate the trap Damage Diet to halve the damage!" interrupted Ben as the cannon ball smashed into him.

Ben: 4000-3000

"Now Blackship attacks Data Guardian!" continued Yuma and he pointed towards Ken's monster.

"Not if I use Negate Attack!" interrupted Ben as Blackship's cannon fire was repelled.

"I end my turn then," concluded Yuma.

Turn 7: Ken

"My turn!" declared Ken as he drew. "I activate Data Guardian's effect! By detaching an overlay unit I can declare a type of card in any other player's hand, and if I guess right my monster's attack doubles! If I guess wrong though, then my monster loses all of its attack"

"No way you'll guess right," snorted Kite.

Ken smirked. "I declare that the card on the far right of Ben's hand is a spell card!"

"How right you are," chuckled Ben as he revealed the picked card to be Spell Book Inside the Pot.

"That's not possible," gasped Astral. "Two times in a row they were each able to guess what cards were which in their hands."

"You must be cheating!" snapped Kite enraged.

"No," denied Ken. "We just always set up how hands so that your spells and traps and monsters have different sections of our hands. Technically, its more of a tactic about knowing each other very well."

"You dirty rats!" spat Kite.

"Now, now," mocked Ken. "Calm. Now's not the time to be getting angry. You're going to need all the help you can get to get out of this!"

Data Guardian: Attack 2000-4000

"Now attack his dragon!" ordered Ken as his monster charged at Kite's dragon.

"I activate Instantaneous Summon!" interrupted Kite. "With this card, I can immediately activate a an effect that summons a monster! I tribute Paladin of Photon Dragon to summon the avatar of light! Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"

Kite threw his hand into the air as the dragon formed of galactic energy appeared on the field and roared.

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: Attack 3000

"So what?" spat Ken. "I can just call of my attack!"

Kite smirked. "No you can't! Because the second effect of Instantaneous Summon stops a reply from occurring!"

"What?" gasped Ken.

"Now I can use the effect of Galaxy-Eyes to banish our monsters!" cried Kite in triumph.

Galaxy-Eyes exploded into light, taking with it Data Guardian.

"I activate Pot of Greed to draw two cards," growled Ken. "I set a card and end my turn."

"Now Galaxy-Eyes and your monster return!" declared Kite. "In addition Galaxy-Eyes gains 500 attack because Zone Guardian had one overlay unit while it was banished!"

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: Attack 3000-3500

Data Guardian: Attack 4000-2000

Turn 8: Kite

"And now it's my turn!" exclaimed Kite as he drew. "I activate Photon Sanctuary! This allows me to special summon two Photon Tokens to the field!"

Photon Token x 2: Attack 2000

Two balls of light blue energy appeared.

"Now I tribute them!" exclaimed Kite. "To summon Photon Wyvern!"

Photon Wyvern: Attack 2500

A dragon composed of light blue energy appeared on the field and roared.

"And due to his effect!" explained Kite. "All of your set cards are destroyed!"

"What?" panicked the twins in union as Photon Wyvern roared, shattering their face downs.

"Now Photon Wyvern attacks Ben directly while Galaxy-Eyes attacks Data Guardian!" Kite pointed towards Ben and Ken.

"Not if I have anything to say about it!" interrupted Ben as he discard a card from his hand. "If I discard Zone Circle from my hand I can automatically end the battle phase!"

As Kite's two monsters prepared to attack a portal composed of blue energy sucked their attacks up.

Kite groaned. "I use Galaxy Reinforcements! Now we each draw until we have six cards in our hands! I set two cards and end my turn!"

Turn 9: Ben

"Time to get serious!" hissed Ben as he drew. "First off I summon Zone Maximize!"

Zone Maximize: Attack 1000

A silver cylindrical object with blue energy coming from it and surrounding it appeared.

"And due to his effect I can special summon a level 4 or lower monster from my grave! Come on back Zone Beetle!"

Zone Beetle: Attack 1500

"Now I use the effect of Zone Beetle!" declared Ben. "If he's summoned from the grave, I can change the level of all the monsters on my field to whatever I like!"

"Oh no," commented Yuma.

"He's going to summon his Numbers card," finished Astral.

"I change their levels to 6!" roared Ben.

Zone Maximize: Level 4-6

Zone Beetle: Level 4-6

"Now watch I use my two monsters to build the overlay network!" called out Ben as his two monsters created a vortex of light and the Number 14 flashed from it. "I XYZ summon Number 14! Terror Claw!"

Yuma, Astral and Kite watched as a black and blue armoured knight with two large claws attached to either side of it appeared and roared.

Number 14 Terror Claw: Attack 2400

"That little monster doesn't scare me!" claimed Kite. "So bring it!"

Ben smirked. "Don't think you're going to win Kite. Because I'm about to show you what true terror is! I detach an overlay unit from Terror Claw! Now one of your monsters loses attack equal to the attack of another monster! I choose Photon Wyvern to lose attack equal to Galaxy-Eyes'!"

Kite could only watch as Terror Claw's chest lit up with blue energy and struck his Photon Wyvern, weakening it.

Photon Wyvern: Attack 2500-0

"Now the second effect of my monster activates!" laughed Ben. "By paying 500 life points I can destroy a monster with zero attack! Like Photon Wyvern!"

Kite cried out as his monster exploded.

Ben: 3000-2500

"Now I use Spell Book Inside the Pot!" declared Ben. "We each draw three cards! Now I use the spell Miracle Detachment! Now I can use Terror Claw's effect again even though normally I'm not allowed too! Now I reduce the attack of Blackship by Galaxy-Eyes' attack!"

Number 50 Blackship of Corn: Attack 2000-0

"Now I pay another 500 life points to destroy that Number card!" spat Ben as Blackship exploded.

Ben: 2500-2000

"Terror Claw can't attack on the turn its effect is used," explained Ben. "But my Zone Blader can!"

Yuma cried out as Zone Blader slashed him with its blade.

Yuma: 2200-0600

"I end with a face down!" finished Ben.

Turn 10: Yuma

"Now you've made me really angry!" growled Yuma as he drew. "I summon Goblindbergh!"

Goblindbergh: Attack 1400

A goblin riding in a plane flew onto the field.

"Now due to his effect I can special a level 4 or lower monster from my hand! Come on out Gogogo Golem!"

Gogogo Golem: Attack 1800

Goblindbergh dropped a crate on the field, which opened up to reveal a stone golem.

"You wanted to get serious?" asked Yuma. "Well it's about too! I overlay my two level 4 monsters to build the overlay network and XYZ summon Number 39! Utopia!

Number 39 Utopia: Attack 2500

A white and golden knight with wings and two swords appeared on the field.

"Now power him up Yuma!" advised Astral. "And attack!"

"Now I equip him with Overlay Energizer!" continued Yuma. "Utopia gains 500 attack for every overlay unit he has!"

Number 39 Utopia: Attack 2500-3000-3500

Utopia drew both its swords as it prepared for battle.

"Utopia!" commanded Yuma. "Attack Terror Claw with Hope Sword Energizing Slash!"

Utopia charged towards Terror Claw with its swords held high.

"I activate a trap!" interrupted Ben. "Staunch Defender! Zone Blader take this attack!"

As Utopia's swords swung down, Zone Blader leapt in front and took the attack, sending Ben flying in the process.

Ben: 2000-0100

"Oh right!" cheered Yuma. "I set a card and end my turn!"

'Strange,' thought Astral. 'Why would Ben let his weaker monster take the attack and have his life points reduced to 100?'

Turn 11: Ken

"Back to me!" spat Ken as he drew. "I summon Data Increase!"

Data Increase: Attack 1400

A red mage composed of data appeared.

"Now I use his effect to special summon another copy from my hand!" snickered Ken.

Data Increase: Attack 1400

"Now I use the second one's effect to increase his and the other Increase's level to 6!" explained Ken.

Data Increase x 2: Level 4-6

Kite prepared himself for what he knew was coming.

"Here it comes," commented Yuma to Astral.

"Yes," answered Astral, worryingly.

Ken laughed hysterically before declaring, "I overlay my two level 6 monsters to build the overlay network!" Ken's two monsters swirled together to create a multicoloured vortex. The Number 41 then flashed from it and the monster appeared.

"Say hello to Number 41!" exclaimed Ken as he threw his hand into the air. "Fear Claw!"

Number 41 Fear Claw: Attack 2400

A monstrous red and black armoured knight with deadly giant claws appeared on the field and screeched.

"Twin Numbers!" Astral gasped.

"Just like Shadow's Number 13 Cain's Doom and Number 31 Abel's Doom!" Yuma commented.

Kite cringed at the sight of the twin Numbers, already having bad experience with two before back when he dueled Shark.

"Now I activate the effect of Fear Claw!" exclaimed Ken. "By using an overlay unit I can increase its attack by that of another monster until my next turn! I target Galaxy-Eyes!"

Red electricity shot from Fear Claw's chest and zapped Galaxy-Eyes.

Number 41 Fear Claw: Attack 2400-5400

"Now I use its second effect!" continued Ken. "By detaching its second overlay unit I can destroy a monster on the field whose attack is less then the attack of Fear Claw's! Say goodbye to Galaxy-Eyes!"

Kite watched in horror as Fear Claw unleashed a stream of red energy from its chest that headed towards Galaxy-Eyes.

"Not so fast!" interrupted Yuma, shocking Kite. "I use the quick-play spell Effect Magnet! With this, I change the target to Utopia!"

"Then you can kiss your ace goodbye!" laughed Ken as Fear Claw's blast was redirected towards Utopia.

"Quick Yuma use the second effect of Overlay Energizer!" called out Astral.

"Oh right!" reacted Yuma. "I send Overlay Energizer to the grave to negate Utopia's destruction!"

Utopia: Attack 3500-2500

The red energy stream smashed into Utopia, but it survived the beating.

"Yuma…" Kite looked over to his partner shocked.

"We're in this together Kite!" declared Yuma.

"How pitiful!" spat Ken. "Because Yuma will lose now anyway! Fear Claw attack Utopia with Fear Ascension!"

Fear Claw screeched before its claws extended from its body and shot towards Utopia.

"I don't think so!" interrupted Yuma. "I use the effect of Utopia to negate this attack by using an overlay unit!"

Utopia used its wing as a shield and deflected Fear Claw's claws.

"You fool!" barked Ken. "You don't think I wasn't expecting that?"

"What!" panicked Yuma.

"I activate the quick-play spell Mind Blast! When one of my attacks fail, this card blasts away the monster I was targeting and inflicts 500 points of damage!"

Yuma screamed as Utopia exploded and he was flung back from the impact.

Yuma: 0600-0100

"I end with a face down!" hissed Ken.

Turn 12: Kite

"Prepare yourself!" exclaimed Kite as he drew. "I activate Photon Throne! Now Galaxy-Eyes gains 500 attack for every Photon monster in my graveyard! I have three so he gains 1500! However Galaxy-Eyes' effect is negated this turn!"

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: Attack 3500-5000

The spirits of Photon Wyvern, Paladin of Photon Dragon and Photon Thrasher appeared and entered Galaxy-Eyes.

"Now I equip Galaxy-Eyes with Double Evolution!" Kite cried in triumph. "When an effect increases Galaxy-Eyes' attack, it get's doubled!"

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: Attack 5000-6500-7000

"Say what!" panicked Ben.

"Now I use Cleansing Waters to return the attack of Fear Claw to its original!" added Kite.

Number 41 Fear Claw: Attack 5400-2400

"Strike him down Galaxy-Eyes!" ordered Kite as his dragon roared. "Photon Stream of Destruction!"

Galaxy-Eyes unleashed a stream of powerful cosmic energy towards Ken's monster

Ben smirked however and Ken laughed before stepping in. "I activate my face down Attack Plug Switch! This switches the attack of two battling monsters! Like ours!"

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: Attack 7000-2400

Number 41 Fear Claw: Attack 2400-7000

"Counterattack Fear Claw!" commanded Ken as his monsters claws extended towards Kite's Dragon.

"I don't think so!" butted in Kite. "I use Dark Bribe! This negates that pesky trap and destroys it at the cost of your drawing a card!"

"No…"

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: Attack 2400-7000

Number 41 Terror Claw: 7000-2400

"End this!" roared Kite as Galaxy-Eyes wiped out Fear Claw.

Ken: 4000-0000 – Eliminated

Ken was thrown back from the impact and groaned while he lay motionless on the ground.

"KEN!" screamed Ben, horrified.

"I end with a face down!" concluded Kite as Photon Throne's effect ended.

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: Attack 7000-4000

Turn 13: Ben

Ben growled angrily and ripped the shoulder pads off, allowing the full power of the Numbers card to take over.

"I draw!" Ben ripped the card from his deck. "I play Monster Reborn to bring back Fear Claw!"

Number 41 Fear Claw: Attack 2400

"Now I can special summon this XYZ monster with two rank 6 monsters instead of four level 6 monsters!" growled Ben as he glowed yellow and the Number 55 appeared on his cheek. "I overlay them to build the overlay network and summon Number 55!"

The two twin numbers became energy and swirled together to create an overlay network. From it appeared a golden 55.

"Awaken!" chanted Ben as a golden knight with fearsome black claws appeared on the field. "RIPPER CLAW!"

Number 55 Ripper Claw: Attack 3000

"Uh oh," commented Yuma.

"Note to self," muttered Astral. "Never enrage one twin by injuring the other."

"Now I use its effect!" roared Ben. "By using an overlay unit I can decrease the attack of a monster to zero and increase its own by that amount! In addition, the monster it affected has its effects negated!"

Golden electricity zapped Galaxy-Eyes and powered up Ripper Claw.

Number 44 Ripper Claw: Attack 2400-4400

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon: Attack 4000-0

"Ripper Claw attack with Ripper Ascension!" exclaimed Ben as Ripper Claw extended its claws that shot towards Galaxy-Eyes.

"I use Negate Attack!" interrupted Kite as a portal opened up and absorbed Fear Claw's energy.

"It won't save you," spat Ben. "Because with the spell Attack Still Ripper Claw's attack can only increase now! Which means his attack doesn't go back down! But Galaxy-Eyes' attack will stay the same!"

Ben snickered as he set a card and ended his turn.

Turn 14: Yuma

"I'm gonna jet!" cried Yuma as he drew a card and then activated that card immediately. "I use Pot of Greed to draw two cards!" Yuma swiftly drew them and gasped at what he drew. "I set two cards! Turn end!"

"Good play Yuma,' complemented Astral.

"We're all set Kite!" explained Yuma. Kite nodded.

Turn 15: Kite

"Let the hunt end!" exclaimed Kite as he drew and smirked at what he drew. "I equip Galaxy-Eyes with Photon Spear! But that's beside the point! Now I overlay Galaxy-Eyes with its two equip spells!"

"Say what!" panicked Ben.

"Watch as I unleash!" roared Kite. "The guardian of the galaxy! Galaxy-Eyes Full Armour Photon Dragon!"

Galaxy-Eyes Full Armour Photon Dragon: Attack 4000

A more heavily armoured version of the original Galaxy-Eyes appeared on the field and roared.

"Way cool!" commented Yuma.

"I detach an overlay unit to destroy Ripper Claw!" declared Kite.

"Not if I use Ripper Claw's second effect!" butted in Ben. "I use an overlay unit and negate its destruction by effects this turn!"

Kite growled.

"You can't beat Ripper Claw!" hissed Ben.

"Not if I use my face down trap Full Armoured XYZ!" interrupted Yuma. "Now I can equip Galaxy-Eyes with Utopia from my graveyard and increase his attack by Utopia's!"

Utopia reappeared and then folded into golden armour that was equipped to Galaxy-Eyes.

Galaxy-Eyes Full Armour Photon Dragon: Attack 4000-6500

"No…"

"When two forces come together!" chanted Kite and Yuma at the same time. "There's nothing you can't do!"

"Attack Galaxy-Eyes!" commanded Astral.

"Not if I use a second Negate Attack!" interrupted Ben with a twisted smirk. "It's over next turn!" Galaxy-Eyes' attack was sucked into a vortex and was lost. But Kite, Yuma and Astral weren't worried at all.

"Go jet Yuma," said Astral with a smile.

"I activate my face down quick-play spell Double or Nothing!" cried Yuma. "Because an attack was negated, Galaxy-Eyes' attack doubles and get's to attack again!"

Galaxy-Eyes Full Armour Photon Dragon: Attack 6500-13000

"Impossible…" stuttered Ben in shock.

"Full Armoured Photon Stream of Destruction!" finished Kite as his dragon unleashed a golden and blue stream of energy at Ripper Claw that blasted it to pieces and sent Ben flying back.

Ben: 0100-0000 – Eliminated

Winners: Yuma & Kite

The Number 55 on Ben's cheek vanished as the duel ended.

"Way to go Yuma!" cheered Tori. "You did good too Kite!"

Kite ignored her however and stretched out his hand and it began to glow white. "Your souls are mine!"

"Stop!" butted in Yuma. "You have to stop doing this! You can't keep taking people's souls! Not anymore!"

Kite looked at Yuma and scowled before lowering his hand. Astral raised his hand and the three Numbers from the Twins appeared and floated towards him.

"Three more down," commented Astral.

"We need to head to Heartland now," stated Yuma.

Kite, motionlessly replied, "Let's go."

'I wonder how Shark is going?' thought Yuma as he Kite and Tori began their walk towards Heartland.

Meanwhile, Shark on his bike was speeding towards Kyoji's lair.

'Get ready Kyoji,' thought Shark. 'Because I'm coming for you.'

In a dark room, sitting on a throne was a figure wearing black robes that covered his appearance. He tapped his fingers together and chuckled devilishly to himself. "Soon all the pieces will come together and the Astral World will be no more. You've made a great pawn, Kyoji Yagumo! Mwahahahahahahahahahaha!"

To be continued: Next Time: Judgment Day! Shark Bites Back!

Shark faces off against Kyoji in the most brutal rematch in duelist history. But Kyoji's plans are much worse than Shark expected and the world hinges on his and Kyoji's duel. But with numerous Number cards backing up the spider duelist, does Shark have a chance to save the both his world and the Astral world? Especially when a mysterious evil enters the fray in order to assure Kyoji's victory.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter. I decided to reuse Ben (known in the original as Ten) and Ken because I liked the idea of putting Kite and Yuma in a tag duel. As you can see, I introduced Galaxy-Eyes Full Armour while I got ride of the fake Number 98 I invented in the first try at this story. I got rid of it because it made no sense what so ever. The mysterious cloaked figure at the end of this chapter will also play a roll in the next chapter because he's connected to Kyoji. Prepare for an intense duel between Shark and Yagumo. Sea Serpents VS Spiders. Hopefully it will be as intense as I plan for it to be because Kyoji's going to be summoning every Number he's got in this battle. Also remember to PLEASE REVIEW!
